Monday June lath, 1924.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session at the office of said Boars! Monday June 16th , 1924,
at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Land,
McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had,
to-wit : -
In matter of Improvement Resolution No. 735-1924, hearing was con-
tinued to Monday June 23rd, 1924.
The Board received petition for cement roadway in the alley between
South 6th & 7th Street , from South "B" to "C" Street , taken under
advisement .
The matter of petition for gas mains in North 16th Street, from"F"
to "J" Street , was referred- to City Attorney.
Permission was granted Jos. Schwegman to repair the alley in rear
of 301 South 5th Street .
The Board approved the contract & bond of The Andrews Asphalt Pav-
ing Co. , contractors under Improvement Resolution No. 727-1924.
Also, under Improvement Resolution No. 731-1924, for improvement of
North 19th Street , from North "E" to "Cr Street and North "CT° to
"E" Street .
The Board approved the contract & bond of E.A.Mariani , contractor
under Improvement Resolution No. 732-1924.
The -Board approved the contract & bond of Z. B. Pyle & Co. , con-
tractor. under Improvement Resolution Ho. 733-1924.
The Board approved the contract & bond of Daniel G. Burkha'rdt, con-
tractor under Improvement Resolution No. 734-1924.
The Board awarded contract for furnish8ng coal as follows : 120: tone
Pocahontas M.R. Mather Bros. , -delivered City Bldg. L $5. 56- ton.
The Board awarded contract for furnishing coal to No' s. 1-3-4 & 5
hose houses to Taylor & Thompson, 80 tons Pocahontas Lump $7 .20 ton.
The Board awarded contract to E.C.Muff & Son, one car load set on
switch for park Pocahontas Mine Run, 6 $4.79 per ton also , 15 tons
more or less Winifred Lump delivered to Detention Hospital $6.00 ton.
The Board granted permission to The Richmond Lumber Co. , to run
drains to the inle at first alley north of Chestnut Street on
Northwest 2nd Street.

The Board received communication from D. C. Hess Mngr. Light Plant,
requesting an appropriation in amount of $50,Q00.00 out of General
Fund of M.E.L.& P.P. to T.I.E.l.& P.P. Sinking Fund, the Board on
motion appro Zed the recommendation.

The City Civil engineer, reported the completion of contract under
Improvement Resolution No.- 683-1923, for constructing cement road
in the alley between South Sth & 8th Street, from South "A" Street
aorth to present cement alley, the Board accepted the same and ap-
proved a primary assessment roll for said improvement.
The City Civil Engineer, reported completion of contract under Im-
provement Aesolution No. 701-1924,for constructing cement roadwqr
- in 1st alley south of Hain Street, from South 22nd to 23rd Street;
the Board accepted the same, and . approved primary assessment roll.
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contracts under
the resolutions as herein specified, to-wit :
- Improvement ResolutionnNo. 702-1924, for cement roadway in alley
- between North 16th & 17th Street , from North "B" to "C" Street .
Improvement Resolution No. 706-1924, for cement roadway in alley
between Northwest 5th & 6th Street, from Pearl Street to Peacock
Road.
Improvement Resolution No. 714-1924, for construction of cement
sidewalk, curb & gutter on west .'side of Southwest 1st Street in
front of vacated. Howard Street .
Improvement Resolution No. 719-1924, for construction of a Sanitary
Sewer in Northwest 6th Street in Sedgwick Place.
- Improvement Resolution No. 723-1924. , for construction of cement
- roadway in alley between North 11th & lath Street, from North "B"
Street to the south terminal of said alley.
- All the above contracts were accepted by the Board and the Board
approved a primary assessment roll for the various improvements
as above specified. -
Claims in amount of $9556.18, were allowed and ordered paid.
The Board approved the various payrolls to June 16th, 1924.
The Board expecting to be out of the City on Thursday next, -on
motion all hearings set for Thursday June 19th, 1924, were con-
- tinned to Monday June 23rd, 1924.The Board then adjourned to meet Monday June 23rd, 1924.
