WHEREAS, the Village of Plainfield desires to implement professional planning
principals to best serve the wastewater collection and treatment needs of the area; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Plainfield currently provides wastewater collection and
treatment service, at a reasonable cost, for our existing residents; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Plainfield has committed to provide wastewater treatment to
serve the planning area; and
WHEREAS, in the past the Village of Plainfield has received the approval of both the
Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and the Northeastern Illinois Planning
Commission to establish our current service area; and
WHEREAS, the growing demand for service in the area requires the expansion of the
existing Plainfield wastewater treatment facilities; and
WHEREAS, the engineering plan to expand the Plainfield wastewater treatment
facilities is consistent with that of past direction.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Plainfield, endorses the Water Quality Management Plan Amendment
application to modify the Village's current wastewater treatment facilities to increase
treatment capacity.
