Monday Apri. l 7th , 1924. •
The Board of Public Works of the. City of hichmond , Indiana , met in
regular sessi on at the office of said Board Monday April 7th, 1924,
. at 9 o'clock A. M. All the membe rs of said Board being present , -
. Messrs , Land , McFall and Henley , the following proceedings were
- had., to -wit : -
The Board met to hear all persons primarily assessed under Declar-
atory Resolution No. 173-1924, in matter. of damages awarded for the
appropriation & condemnation of 7. 79 acres of ground for park purposes
West 'of city limits, between Lain-Street & rational Road , and owned
by •Tross Lamberson, after hearing a verbal_ remonstrance from said
Tross Lamberson, the Board. decide that said Lamberson may use the
ground for pasture unti 1 further noti ce ; and thereupon take final
action on-said award of damages , confirming in all things the origi .,
nal assessment roll as heretofore approved , and now declare the said .
. 7. 79 acres appropriated for park purposes for said. City of Richmond ,
Indiana, and now direct said assessment roll be forthwith transmit-
ted. to the Depart men of Finance .
The Board met to hear rem onst ranee s and to.ke final action on De cla r--
•atory Resolution No. 174-1924, of persons primarily assessed and
damages awarded, in mat to r of appro priati ng 3. 20 ac re s of ground for
park purposes in Wayne Township, from West Main Street to a point
. 742. 50 feet south Of center of Pea cock Road , and owned by Sarah
Gilbert . After hearing verbal remonstrance against amount of damages
awarded, the Board approved a fi nal assessment roll , confirming ,the
original assessment ro11 heretofore approved, and now direct the same
be transmitte d 'for thwi th to the Depart ment of i+inance . ( The Board
agree that said Sarah Gilbe rt , may cultivate the ground for garden
purposes as heretofore used) and now declare said. 3. 20 acres of
ground condemned and app rep ri ate d by the City o f Richmond , Indiana
for park purposes. •
Fire Chief Mille r reported the Depart ment ma de two rune out s id.e the
City Apri 1 4, one to Bast Haven Ave . & Commons Road, and one to
South 4th & "L" Streets.,
The Board app roved the contra.ct & bond of John F. Hipski.ndd , contract-
or under Improvement Re so lutio n No. 721-1924, paving South 21st St.
from Reeve ston Road to South "E" Street, wi th Bituminous-macadam.
The Board receive d 'noti ce from Benj . A. Ball, Secretary of Richmond
Golf Association, that Mr. Roy Hodge , . was elected. to represent said
association in matters before the Board of Public Works .
Pursuant to advertisement, the Board. received bids for Mechanical-
Stoker complete , with Engine drive , for. 750 H. P. Stirling Boiler
for the Municipal I:le ctr is Lighting and Power Plant , as 'fo 1 lows :-

The Board referred all bids to Superintendent of M. E. L. & P.P.
for investigation and report .
The Board recommend an appropriation of 310, 500.00 for M.E.Z. &.P.P.
for lab or , rat er ial and i ns ta.l lati on of conduit sy, st em- to connect
_ with present system in North "A" St. between 2nsl & 3rd St. to Port
Wayne Ave. and in all ey in rear of office to South "A" Street.

Claims to the amount of 313 , 180 .01 were allowed && ordered paid.
