The Board of Publi6 Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met - in regular session at the offi ce of said Board Thursday February 14th , 1924, • at 9 o' clock A. 1.1. All the members of said Board Messrs, Land , McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had , to-wit : - . I . . The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose prorr.,erty is affected by the improvement of the all ey between South 9th & 10th Street , by constructing a cement ro ad_w ay from South "A" St. north to the fir st alley South of Main Stre et , under Improvement Resolution No. 716-1924, A remonstrance ha vi ng been filed .signed by 4 resident property owners , the Board takes same under advise- ment and continue .hearing on said resolution to Thursday February 21st , 1924, 9 o'clock A.M. The Board. meets to hear all persons interested or vth ose property is affected by the improvement of the alley between South 7th & . 8th Street, bu constructing a cement roadway from South "F►►. to "G" Street under Improvement nesolutio,n No. 717-1924. After hearing all - persons interested who appeared. the board decide that the benefits • - to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon take final action on sai d•resolution, the same being con- . ' firmed without modi_ficattn. • The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the improvement of the first alley north of Main Street by constructing a cement rosAw:a,y from North 16th to 17th Street, under Improvement jesolution No. 718-1924. After hearing all persons interested who appeared and being fully advised in the premises, the Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be asses- sed •fcr said improvements are equal to the . cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer and thereupon take final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification. . The City Civil Engineer reported in matter of rem.onstrance filed against the improvement of North '."A" Street, by constructing cement . sidewalks, curb &:, gutters and paving the roadway from Port-l'iayne Ave to North 3rd_ Street under Improvement Resolution No. 711-1924. That there are 7 Resident owners of property residing On said North - - "A" Stre et , Three ( 3) of whom have signed the remonstrance . the • Board. thereupon overrules the remonstrance and directed the Clerk • to advertise for bi ds on said improvements . A remonstrance having been filed against the improvement of North . 19th Street, by paring the roadway from Main to North "G" Street also curb & gutter from railroad 1road bri dge to North "G" Street, under Improvement. Resolution No. 710-1924. The Engineer reported that . ke x • there are 71 resid ent owners residing on said street and) 37 of whom . - have signed the remonstrance . the Board find thld to be(a majority • against paving said street , and can proceed no farther with said im- provements unless directed to do so, by ordinal ce passed by the Com- mon Council by 2/3 vote and approved by the Mayor. The Board direct- the Clerk to prepare an ordinance to present to the Council• at their next meeting authorizing said improvements to be made. 3.6 Thursday February 14th, 1924. Thy Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the condemnation and arp r<<priation of a part of SW.gziar .Sec.32-14 -1 , being a part of Lot 8 , laid out by the Rich- mond Trading & Lifg. Co. , for Park purposes , !under Declaratory Resolution No. 172 -1924, A remonstrance having been filed against said condemnation al. gned by Milton Atkinson, __the Board on motbn on account of faulty description of prorert7 , rescind all former action taken in same , and now order the City Civil Engineer to prepare resolution with prop er descri ptic n of the land proposed to be condemned. • A petition was presented signed by ,iim. Bal zer and .18 others praying that the alley between South 9th & 10th Street , running . from South "C" to "hE" Stre et, be void ened to a v.'i dth of 15 feet the same was referred to engineer for investigation as to the probable cost of said said ening , and the Board selected Messrs , J. F. Davenport , T. W. Hadley and Gar fiBid Dixon to appraise the land to be taken and the cost of movi ng barns , garages etc. , Phe Board directed the Clerk if no further remonstrances are filed against improve men is by 120 o clock on Feb . 15th. , 1924; t o adve r-- ti se for bi ds under the fo llowing- Improvement Resolutions No. 698-1923, for improvement of North 20th St . Main to N. "E" St. No . 707-1924, for improvement of North "E".:.St . 16th to 24th St. No. 711-1924, for improvement of. North "A" St . Ft-rVayne Ave . to N.3rd No. 712 --1924, for improveriient of West 5th St , idat1.l0�. to Rich.Ave.• No. 715 -1924, fcr improvement of S.18th St . -Reeveston Rd. to S.E.St. . A petition signed by Albert D. March & 7 others , praying for the impr ovement of Southwest lst Stre et, by cons LI acting cement curb , matte r and walks on both sides of street , and grading and paving the roadway from National Road to Southwest "E" Stre et, the same was referred to the City Engineer to investi gate , and report the probable cost of said improvements to the City . Claims in amount of ; 11, 122 . 78 were all'ovtw ed_ & ordered paid . The • Richmond. City Water Works , were directed to lay water main in North "A" Stre et , from 1'prt- ayne.
