HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-04-1924 30 Office of Board of Public Works City of Richmond , Indiana; Monday x eb ra ar y 4th , 1924. • • The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the - office of said Board Monday February 4th 1924, at 9 o' clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Land , McFai 1 and Henley, being present . The following .proceedings were had to-wit:- • • The Board meet to hear all persons interested or-whose property is affected by the Improvement Resolutio n No. 710-1924a provi ding for the improvement of, North 19th Street, by constructing cement curb & gutter 1'wide on both sides of street, from the P.C .C.& St.L.Ry. Bridge to North "G" Street and' paving the roadway with one of the following- kinds of modern city pavements , to -wit : Re®infor ced Con- crete-, Brick, Sheet -Asphalt or Bituminous Macadam , from Main to North "G" Street. After hearing all persons interested who app eare d and being fully advised in the premises, the Board decide that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed:. for said improvements are equal- to the cost of -same as reported by the City- Civil Engine- er, less the sum the city agrees to pay on said. improvements , (-The City of Richmond. , agrees to pay the cost of the street & alley in- tersections and 10% of the cost of the roadway . ) And thereupon take final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modi fi cation. The Board meets to hear all persons interested or-whose prop erty is affected by Improvement Resolution No. 711-1924, provid- • ing -for the. iinprovemen_t of• North- "A" Street , by constructing cement sidewalks 52' wide, -curb- & gut-ter on both sid.es of street and paving the roadway with one of the- fo llowii ng kinds of modern city pavements Brick , Re-inforced- Concrete, Sheet Asphalt or Bituminous Macadam, from Port-vvayne Alt. . to North 3rd Street . After hearing all persons interested who appeared and a remonstrance having been filed against • said improvements, the Board decide that the benefits_ to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost as reported by the City Civil Engineer, less the sum the City will pay on said. improvements . ( The City of Richmond agrees to pay the cost of the stre t and alley intersections and such sum in addition as will amount to 10% of the cost of the curb , gutter and roadway) . And thereupo4 take final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed, with out modi fi cats on, the remonstrance agai nst said im- provements were referred to the City Civil Engineer for investigation and r epo rt . The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by Improvement Resolution No. 712-1924, provid- ing for the improvement of West 5th Street, by paving the roadway with°one of the following kinds of modern city pave men is , to-wit : Street Asphalt, Bituminous - Macadam , Re-inforced Concrete or Rock- Asphalt, from National Road to Richmond Ave . After hearing all per- sons interested who appeared and being fullyadvi sed in the premises the Board decide that the benefits to the property liable to be as- sessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same as re- ported by the City Civil Engineer, less the sum the City will pay. (The City agrees to pay the cost of the street & alley intersections and the additional' sum of l00 of the cost of said. roadway) ,and there- upon takes final. action on said resolution, the same being confirmed wi th out modifi ca do n Ivtonday February 4th , 1924. 31 • The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 715-1924, providing for the improvement of South . 18th Street, by paving. the roadway with one of the following .kinds of mod ern ci ty pay ementa, to-wit : -Bitum- inous Macadam , Concre to , Brick or Asphalt, from Reeveston Road to South "E" Street. After hearing• all' persons int ereinterested•who;,,appe,ared and being fully advised in the premises, the Board 'decides"that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer and thereupon take final action on ,same . The reso lutitn being •con- firmed without modification. The Board granted permission to Levi S. .Mille r , to cut the curb at 510 8W."A" Street for private driveway. , The Board awarded the contract -for printing the various forms used by . the Municipal Electric Lighti ng & Power Plant , t o the Nicholsibn printing Company, at pri ce s named in the it bid submitted therefore January 31st , 1924-- total amount 0137.25 . The Board app roved the various payrolls up to January 31 st, 1924. • Claims in the amount of ti39.41 . 34 were allowed & ordered paid. The Board unanimously ador to d Impro ve ment Resolution No. 723-1924 provi ding for the improvement of the all ey between North llth 8c 12th Str eet, by constructing a ceinent roadway the fall width there of from North "B" Street south to south terminal of said alley, and whereas a petition signed by Walter McConaha, .C.C.Brown, Alonzo Davenport & • Conrad S. 'He et all the prop erty owners interested or whose prop erty _ will be assessed, wai.vering all rights to be heard in the matter, the Board unanimously confirmed said resolution, and directed the • Clerk to advertise for bids or said improvement to be received the same date as other all ey improvements are re c ei yed.
