The Board of Publ is Works of the City of Ai chmond , Indiana , met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday January 31st , 1924, at 9 o' clock A. I . All the members of said Board , Messrs, Land , McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had , to -wit :- The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by Improvement Resolution No. 705-1924, for the im- provement of the alley between South 15th & 16th Street ,. by con- structing a cement roadway from South "A" to "B" Street. After hearing all persons interested who appeared. The Board deci des that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said im- provements are equal to the cost of the same as reported by the City Civi. l Engi neer and thereupon takes final action on said re- soluti off}, the same being confirmed with out modification. _ The Board meets to hear all persons' interested or whose property is affected by Improvement resolution No.706-1924, for the improve- ment of the alley between NW.5th & 6th Street , by cement roadway from Pearl Street to Peacock road . After hearing all persons in- terested who appeared and bei ng fully advi sed in the premises, the Board decides that the bene fits to the property liable to be as- sessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost there- of as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final a cti.on on said resolution, the same being confirmed with out modification. The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is of fe cted by Improvement Resolution No. 707-1924, for the im- provement of North "E" Stre et , by constructing cement curb & gut- ters ; also cement sidewalks- both sides of street except where ce- ment sidewalk already exists and in good condi do n, and paving the roadway with one of the fo howling kinds of modern ci ty pavements ; Brick, Sheet Asphalt , Re-inforced Concrete or Wood Block, from North 16th to 24th Street. After hearing all persons interested who appeared and being fully advi sed in the premises, the Board deci de that the be ne fi is to prop erty liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost of same as re- ported by the City Civil Engi neer, less the sum the City agrees to pay on said improvements , ( The City agrees to pay the cost of the str eet & alley intersections and 10% of the cost of the curb , & gutter and roadway) , and thereupon take fi nal action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification. The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by Improvement resolution No.709 -1924, for the improve- ment of the alley between South 12th & l3th Street, by constructing cement roadway from South "A" Street to 1st alley south of Mai, n Street. After hearing all persons interested who appeared and be- ing fully advi sed in the premises, the Board deci des that the beni- fits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estim ted cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer and thereupon take final action on said resolution the same be ng confirmed with out modi$ cation. 29 Thursday January 31st , 1924. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 722-1924 for the improvement of the alley 1st north of National Road, by constructs ng a cement roadway, from SW. 10th to ll:th Street. The Clerk was directed to request the City Attorney, as to who teher a legal ordinance can be passed, compelling property owners to pay for the laying of gas mains in newly paved str ee is , were the . revenue on said street is inadequate to compe7.1 the gas company _ to lay their mains under the rulings of the Public Service Com- missio-n and ordinances -of the city.
