HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 00:28 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 00-18 TITLED "AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE AND ENFORCE TOWING ROAD SERVICE AND STORAGE OF VEHICLES IN THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET, COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX AND STATE OF NEW JERSEY" WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") have enacted an ordinance which regulated towing, road service and storage of vehicles within the Borough (the "Towing Ordinance"); and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have determined that certain modifications to the Towing Ordinance are necessary. NOW, THERFORE BE IT ORDAINED that Ordinance number 00-18, the towing . ordinance is hereby amended as follows: 1-) Article I A. (1) Delete the words "panel truck" and "camper type vehicle used for recreational purposes" 2-) Article VI (3) delete existing language "be rated at 80,000 pounds" and replace with: "Every Official Heavy Duty Tower shall have a heavy duty tow wrecker available which shall mean a tow truck with dual wheels capable of towing large trucks and shall meet the following minimum requirements: GVW- 30,000 lbs./G.C.W.R.- 80,000 lbs, boom rating 50,000 lbs wench rating 50,000 lbs, cable size and length 5/8" and 200', equipped with chassis lift/under reach retracted rating 25,000 lbs. And extended rating 14,000 lbs." 3-) Article X (c)(1) revise Class I to include "all vehicles between 5,000 and 11,500 pounds" and Class 2 to include "all vehicles over 11,500 pounds". 4-) Article X (c)(2) Amend "Inside Building Storage Facility Capacity" fee for class vehicles to "$40.00" and 'Outside Building Storage Facility Capacity" for class 1 to $30.00.
