ROUTE 30 AND ROUTE 126 IN THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD FOR THE PURPOSE OF PLAIlVFIELD HOMECOMING PARADE TO BE HELD SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2005. WHEREAS, the Plainfield Consolidated School District #202 of the Village of Plainfield desires to hold their 54th Annual Homecoming Parade on U. S. Route 30 and Route 126 on Saturday, September 24, 2005 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) and, WHEREAS, said parade will require the closing of Illinois Route 126 and U. S. Route 30 from Route 59 west to the western juncture of Routes 126 & 30. WHEREAS, Route 126 eastbound will be detoured onto northbound Route 30 to 143rd Street then east to Rt. 59; westbound Route 126 will be directed northbound on Route 59 to 143rd Street west to Route 30, and then south to Route 126. Route 30 traffic will be detoured onto 143rd from both the east and. west. WHEREAS, the State of Illinois requires the Village to assume all responsibility and liability involved in the closing of said highway. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The Village of Plainfield will assume full responsibility for the direction, protection and regulation of traffic during the time the detour is in effect, and all liabilities for the damages of any kind occasioned by the closing of said State Route. 2. It is further agreed that efficient, all weather detours will be maintained conspicuously marked and judiciously police patrolled for the benefit of traffic deviated from the State Route. Lockport St. Plainfield, IL. 60544 Dear Ms. Janik: This letter is your permission to close a State highway as follows: US Route 30 from Illinois Route 59 to IL 126 on Saturday, September 24, 2005 during the hours between 5:00 AM and 12:00 Noon for the purpose of holding the 54th Plainfield H.S. Homecoming Parade. In .accordance with the statutes relating to the issuance of a permit to a local agency for this purpose, the resolution received with your request for this closure is attached hereto and made a part of this permit. The following special provisions shall be strictly adhered to: 1. All material and supplies required for the closure, including barricades, detour signs, etc., shall be provided by the local governmental agency . 2. Parking of vehicles shall be prohibited on the detour streets to allow uninterrupted flow of two-way traffic. 3. Barricades shall be erected at each end of the closed section and adequately lighted to provide protection for night time traffic. 4. A flagman or police officer shall be stationed at each end of the closed section and at such other points as maybe necessary to assist in directing through traffic around the detour. 5. All debris shall be cleared away and disposed of by the local authorities prior to the opening of the State highway. US 30 & IL 126 Page two September 14, 2005 6. If this permit is for a parade, an occasional break shall be made in the procession at highway intersections so traffic may pass through.
