The Board of .Publ is Works of the City of i-Ichmond , Indi ana, met in regular session at the office of said Board -Thursday January 3rd , 1924,- at 9 o clock A. i 2. All the membe rs of said Board , Messrs , Land, McPai1 and Henley bei ng present . The following pro- ceedi rigs were had , to -wit :.- The Board met to he ar' all persona whose property is affected by . the Improvement of North 20th Street, By cons tructi ng cement sid e- . walks 6' wi de on both sides of said street , except where, good • cement walk al ready exi sts , and constructing cement curb & gutter 1` wide, and paving. the roadway with one of the following kinds of modern city pavements ; Concrete - Brick - Asphalt or Bituminous _ Macadam., from Main to North -"E" Street as provided for under izrila Improvement Resolution No. 698-1923. After hearing' all persons in- , .terested tjho appeared ann no remonstrance having been fi led against said Improvements . The Board fi nd that the bene fi is to the property liable to be assessed for se id improvements are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, less the sum the City wi. 11 pay toward said improvements ; The City agrees to pay the cost of the street and alley intersectio ns ; 10% •of the cost of the curb & gutter and 10% of the cost of paving the roadway. The Board thereupon takes final action upon said resolution the same being _ unanimously confirmed with out modi fi ratio .n • The Board unanimously adop to d Improvement Resolution No. 699-1924 • for the improvement of the alley between the C . w 0 Ry.Co.Tra.cks and South 7th Street ; •by constructi ng a cement roadway the full width thereof, from South "H" to "J" Street. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement resolution No. 700-1924 for the improvement of North "D." Street , by constr ucti ng a cement • • sidewalk 6 ' wide on south side- of street from North 20th- to 22nd Street. • • The Board unanimously adop to d Improvement Resolution No.701-1924 for the improvement of the 1st all ey south of Main Stre et, by con- strue ti ng a cement roadway the full wi dth thereof from South• 22nd to 23rd Street . • • The Board unanimously adop to d Improvement Resolution No.702-19 24 for the improvement of the alley between North - 16th. & 17th Street by constructing a cement ro adv.ay the full wi.d. th thereof, from North "B" to "C" Street. • The Beard unanimously adop to d Impro vement peso luti on No.703-1924 • for the improvement of the all ey betw een South 7th & 8th Street . by construe ti.ng a ce men t roadw ay the full wid th the re of, from South "L" Street north to the north to rminous ; thence east to South 8th Street. The Board unanimously adop to d Improvement Resolution No.704-1924 to improve Southwest 10th Street , by constructing cement curb & gutter 1 wi , sid ewal 1m 5' wide on both sides & paving the roadway with one of the following pavements , Rock Asphalt-Sheet Asphalt- Cement or Bituminous Macadam , from Main Street to •Nat ional Road . 41k, • Thursday January 3rd , 1924. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.705-v1924 for the improvement of the alley between South 15th & 16th Street by construets ng a ce merit• roadway the full width thereof, from South "A" to "B" S-treet. The Board unanimously adopted- Improvement Resolution No. 706-1924 for the improvement of the alley between • Northwest 5th & 6th Street by constructing a cement roadway the full width thereof , from Pearl Street to the Peacock Road . The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 707-1924 for the improvement of North "E" Stre et ; by constructing cement curb & gutter 1' wide, cement sidewalks except where already constructed and in good c ondi tion on both sides of said street , and paving the roadway wi th one ,of the mod ern kinds of ci- ty pavements , to-wit :Sheet Asphalt -Reinforced Concrete - Brick or Bictrzatym= Wood Block, from North 16th to North 24th Street . ' • The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Reso lutio n No. 708-1924 for the improvement of North 19th Street , by constructing cement sidewalks 6' wide on both sides of street , from Main to North"A"St. The Board unanimously adop to d Improvement Resolution No. 709 -1924 for the improvement of the alley between- South 12th & 13th Street by constructing a cement roadway the full wid th thereof, from South "A" Stre et to the •1st all ey south of Main_ Street running east and west . The Board unanimously adopte.d Improvement Resolution No. 710-1924 for the impr ovement . of North 19th Street , .by constructing cement curb & gutter on both sides from the P. C.C .& St.I,.Ry.bridge to North "G" Street and paving the roadway with one of the following kinds of modern city pavements,to-wit : - Re-inforced' concrete - Brick - Sheet Asphalt or Bituminous Macadam , from Main Street to North "G" Street. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 711-1924 for the improvement of North "A" Stre et , by constructing cement si de- walks 5 ' wide curb & gutter 1'wid.e on both sides of street and pav- ing the roadway wi th one of the following kinds of modern city pave- , ments , to--wit : Brick - Re-inforced Concrete - Sheet Asphalt or Bitum- inous Macadam , from Ft-Wayne Avenue to North 3rd Street. - The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 712-1924 for the improvement of West 5th Stre et ; by paving the roadway with one of the following kinds of modern city pavements , to-wit ; She et- •Aspha lt - Bituminous Macadam - Re-inforced Concrete or Rock Asphalt from National Road to north side of. Richmond Avenue . The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 713-1924 . - for the improvement of Sherman Street and Butler Street ; by grading and graveling roadways constructi ng cement curb & gutter on both sides of said streets wi th graveled sid ewalks . Sherman Street from Sheri dan to Butler and Butler Street , from She rman street to the south terminous of said street The Board unanimously adopted Improvement resolution No. 714-192 4 for the improvement of Southwest 1st Street by...c onstructi.ng cement curb & gutter & si dewalk in front of Va.caed Howard Street. Thursday January 3rd , 1924.. The- Board unanimously adopted Improve men Re so luti on No. 715-1924 for the improvement of South 18th Stre et , by grading & paving the roadway wi th one of the following kinds of modern city pave- ments , to -wit : Bituminous Macadam - Concre to - Brick or Aspha It from Re eve stun Road to South "E" Stre et . The Board unanimously agreed that the County Surveyor make the grades to bridge in iliest 5th Street over the P ;.C .C. St .L.Ry.Co. tracks 5% on north sid e and no on the south side. A bi11 in amount of 5p211., 10 against the City filed by Connor , Bearly & Jenks contractors for the construction of Relief Sewer i n North 16th Street North "E" Street etc . , was refe r're.d to the City Attorney.., wi th the request that he give the Board an answer by Monday as to the legality and justi ce of claim. The Sup' t of Parks J.H. 'ulle was requested to give the Bta:l.d a bill of pipe for watering the greens at the City' s 'Golf Course. The City Civi 1 Engineer was directed to prepare plans etc . , for the vacation of the alley lying on east side of ,lest' 5th Street al ong the west side of Lot No 1, Miller & Kempersip Addi_ti-on. The Building was authorized to issue permit to the T.H. I . : E. Traction Co. , • to .r.e-construct their car barns. on si to of barns destroyed by fire. - The Board then adjourned , rest . of -Board Attest, ; Clerk o o};.ni
