Thursday December 13th , 1923.
The Board of Public •Works of the City of Richmond. , Indiana , met
. in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday December
13th, 1923, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board ,
Messrs , Land, IMMcFai1 and Henley being present . The following pro-
ceedings were had , to-wit : -

The City Civil Engi neer reported the completion of contract under
Improvement •Llesolution No. 680 -1923, providing for the construction
of cement curb & gutter.:on both sides of Ilan do 1ph Street from West
1st to 5th Street .
The Street Commissioner was directed to te ar down the old small-
pox house at the Detention Hospital grounds .
Appraisers , Wm. Stevens , L. N. Cox and. Carl Wright , appointed by
the Judge of Wayne Circuit Court to appraise the old boilers re-
, moved from the M.E.L.& P.P. reported on same , which was accepted
by the Board .
In matter of budget ordinance referred to Board by the Ordinance
Committee of Council, requesting information as to the items of
Repairs , Miscellaneous & Deferred_Maintenance accounts, Mr. Hess
presented written statement of said accounts , on motion the Clerk
was directed to send each of the Ordinance Committee a copy of the
same , wi th their r. ecommendati o n that the ordinance be passed at
the next regular meeting of Counci 1.
The Board renew contra ct for next year , for the purchase of Renew-
al Cartridge Fuses etc . , with the Chicago Fuse Mfg. Co. , for the
Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant .
Dr. Chas. E. Duffin Secy. of Board of Publ is Health , presented a
communication to the Board and report of the condi tio n of the De-
tention Hospital of the City which on motion was referred to the
Mayor , Board of Public Health , City Attorney, Council Committee
to meet together with the Board of Pub1 i.c Works .
The Clerk was directed to request Mr. Lamberson, to appoint one
appraiser, and the Board appointed J.F.Davenport , and the two ap-
praisers to appoint a third, to appraise property which the City
is contemplating, condemnation proceedings for Park and boulevard
purposes.
