Monday October 29 th , 1923.
The Boa rd. of Public Works of the City of JAi chmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said- Board , Monday October 29th,
1923, at 9 o'clock A. I;i. Messrs , McFait.'and Henley being present .
Mr. Land, Absent . Two members of said Board being present . The fol-
lowing proceedings were had , to-wit : -
The Board met to hear remonstrances , if any of persons primarily
assessed on account of the opening of the alley between South 10th
& llth Street , from South "I" to "J" Street , under gleclaratory
peso lution No. 168-1923. No remonstrances being filed, the Board
approved a final assessment roll of benefits & damages as hereto-
fore approved , confirming in all things the former action taken
by said Board , and now direct the assessment roll, be forthwith trans-
mitted to the .L epartment of Finance , and said alley is hereby de-
clared opened to the public. use.
The City Civil Engineer reported the . completion of contract under
Improvement iiesolution No.664-1923, for the improvement of South "J"
Street, by constructing cement sidewalks , curb & gutters on both
sides of street, from South 6th to 9th Street, the Board accepted
the same and approved a primary assessment roll for said work.
The City \Civil Engineer, reported the completion of contract under.
Improvement Resolution No. 676-1923, for the improvement of the al-
ley between South 8th & 9th Street, by constructing a cement roadway
therein, from South "C" to "E" Stre et. Tire Board accepted the same,
and app roved a primary assessment roll covering said contract .
A petition was presented signed by J. H. Oesting, et-al , for the
opening of the 2nd alley north of South -"E" Street , running from
east side of South 6th Street, east to the alley running north &
south, between South 6th & 7th Street , in view of the fact that this
alley was just recently vacated, the Clerk was directed to notify
the head petitioner, to appear before the Board Monday November 5th
to show reasons why said alley should be opened.
The Board decide to close the publ is golf links , Novembe r 1st, 1923,
for. the season, and Park Sup' t. , be so instructed.
The Board then adjourned,
