City of Richmond, Indiana,
Thursday October 18th , 1923.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session at the office of said Board, Thursday
October 18th, 1923, at 9 o'clock A. M. Messrs, McFall and,
Henley , present Mr. Land Absent. Two members of said Board
being present-. The: following proceedings were had , to-wit :-
The Clerk reported the various complaints referred to them by

the Common Council at their last meeting.
The Board received notice from Public Service Commission of Indi-
ana, of meeting- to be held before said Commission October 30th,
1923, -10 o' clock A.M. State House, Indianapolis , in matter of
Petition of Richmond Home Telephone Co. , Valuation of property,
which was referred to City Attorney.
FirevChief Miller, reported that the H. Hol-zapfel'n Sons, had
purchased from the town of Hagerstown, Indiana, an old style
piece of fire apparatus, the same being a "Hand Pump", and had
offered the same to the City as a gift, providing they -take care
. - of it , and if they eveT want to dispose of it , the Pump be re-
turned to H. Holzapfel s Sons, free of any charge whatsoever.
The Board directed the Fire Chief to accept the same, with the
thanks of the City, with the understanding, that whenever the
City doe not care to keef it . It be returned as above. provided.
Upon the recommendation of Mr. Hess,, Sup't. , of M.E.T.& P.P. the
Board award the contracts for street lighting system & light posts
in .Reeveston Streets as follows, as provided for under the speci-
fications adopted therefor, to-wit : -
Items, 1, 2 ,3 & 4, to The Westinghouse Electric & Mfg. Co. ,
Items, 5 & 6, To the Central Electric Company.
Items , 7, to The Western Electric Company, all according to- their
respective proposals received in bids submitted therefore on the
- 1st day of October, 1923.
The Clerk was directed to notify L.E. Iliff, to remove the dead
tree in front of his property No. 24 North 6th Street.
The Board then adjourned,
