The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session at the office of said Board, Monday October 15th, 1/
1923, at 9 o' clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs,Land,
McFall and Henley being present, The following proceedings were had,
to-sit : -
The Board meets to hear remonstrances if any of persons primarily
assessed on account of the improvement of North & South 10th Street
by paving said street with Asphalt , from North "A" to South "A" St.
under Improvement Resolution No.688-1923. No one appearing or remon-
strating. The Board approved a final assessment roll, confirming in
all things the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and
nor direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Lepartrlent of hinane e
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of construction of
a sanitary Sewer in the first alley north 'of North "FT' Street , from
North 13th Street west to the alley between North 12th & 13th Street
under Improvement Resolution No. 689-1923. The Board accepted the
same ,and approved a primary assessment rollcoveri.ng the cost of same .
The Board acepted the paving of south side of Lain Street, from 8th
to 9th Street, with Asphalt by The Andrews Asphalt paving Company,
at the cost to the City of $500.00.
The Board adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 171-1923, to vacate a
portion of North 24th Street , from North "F" Street to the north line
of the alley running east & west between North "E" & "F" Street.
A petition was received for the improvement of Sherman Street;also
Butler Street , by constructing cement C .& G. with- graveled roadway &
sidewalks from Sheridan St. to Butler St. and from Sherman St. to
south terminal of Butler Street, same was referred to Engineer for
plans etc. ,
The Board approved •a contract with the General Electric Co. , for M.
E.L.& P.P. Meters for the year 1924.
Permission was hranted E. Hollarn to cut the curb for driveway at 214
South 8th Street.
The Board lease fromN'the Indiana State Highway Commission _for the
term of 2 years beg. Oct. 11th, 1923, 2 - 1 ton Airoplane Trailers
for the sum of 4120.00 on delivery of said trailers.
Claims in amount of 47 , 647 . 27 were allowed & ordered ,paid.
The Clerk was directed to prepare app. ordinance for 01 ,000.00 for
Tractors, Trailers and Runabout auto,for Street Commissioner.
