The Board of Publ is Works of the City of Richmond, Indi.ana, met in regular session at the offi ce of said. Board , Monday October 8th , 1923, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board ,Messrs , Land , McFall and Henley, being present . The following proceedings were had , to-wit :- The Board meets to hear remonstrances, if any of persons primarily assessed on account of the West part of Johnson Street , under De- claratory Resolution No. 169 -1923. No one appearing or remonstrating The Board approved a final assessment roll , confirming in all things the original assessment roll heretofore approved, and no direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance. And said portion of said street was declared vacated. The Board granted permission to Evans & Evans to cut the curb for - driveway at 1001 North 10th Street . The Board received communication sent to . the Mayor, by the Starr Piano Co. , notifying the Board of their desire to purchase Lots 42- 43 & 44 Hanover Addition, from the City. The Board not being famil- ier with the situation, take same under advisement for investigation and directed the clerk to so notify said Piano Co. , The Board discussed the matter of sunken trenches in newly improved streets, and issue an order to the City Civil Engineer, that in the future , trenches dug in the str eets of whatever nature , shall be filled with good gravel or stone, acceptable to the Engineer and x under his supervision and same be tamped back in proper manner, and Clerk directed to notify Public Utilities of this city of said order The Clerk was directed to noti fy the J. M. Hutton Co. , to bring the track , crossing Elm Place up to grade also to fill and repair the street at this point to conform to the balance of street. The Clerk was directed to notify the C . & 0. Ry. Co. , to plank their crossing in South "H" Street , also , South "J" Street, from Street line to street line . The Clerk was directed to notify Mr. Chas. Wiley Thing:, of Richmond Home Telephone Co. , to get into communication with Mr. Hess Sup't. of Light Plant , in matter of agreement had with former manager Wm. Bailey, in matter of underground or conduit system in Northwest 1st Street. - Reserves retained under following contracts and to contractors named: The Finance Department was directed to pay as follows, vis : ; Res. 6.31 --0108.25 ; -638--- n30 .54; 645---039 .72 ;648--519.45 ; to Daniel G.Burkhardt, Under. # 613--0675.91;#614---035.12 , E.M.Curti s. John Duke , under #620---072 .88 and John F. Hipskind, under ,622---- 048 .23. Claims in amount of 07191 .01 were allowed & ordered paid. The Board then adjourned, ahrAter Attest : Pr s . o board.
