Monday October 1st 91923.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday October 1st
1923, at 9 0 clock A. M. All the membe rs of said Board Messrs ,
,.band , Malail and Henley being present. The following proceedings
were had, to -wit : -
The Board meets to hear remonstrances , if any of persons primarily
assessed on account of the improvement of-- South 17th Street, by
- constructi rig cement sid ewalks or. both sides of said, street, from
Main to South "A" Street, under .Improvement Resolution No.666-1923.
No one ay-pearl -rig- Or remonstrating-, the Board arp roved a final as-
sessment roll, confi rming the priginal assessment roll as hereto-
fore approved. And. now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to
the Depart ment of Finance . • -
The Board meets to hear remonstrances , if any of persons primarily
assessed on account of the improvement of the all ey between North
12th & 13th Street ,. by constructing a cement -roadway- the full width
thereof, from North "A" etreet, south to the fi rst alley north of
Main Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 678-1923. No one appeal
ing or remonstrating . The Board approved a final assessment roll
- confi rming the pri ginal assessment roll as heretofore approved. And
now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Depart'rent of
.Finance
The Cle rk presented to the Board report from The Public Service Com-
mission of Indiana., authori zing and directin the City to place in
effect a' new and reduced schedule of rates for electric current frog.
October 1,- 1923, and - ordering the City to pay to Treasurer of State
through the Secretary of said onniaaion the sum of j195-50 , ex-
penses incurred by- the Commission in the investigation of this cause
as required by Section 74 of the Public Service Commi ssion Act.

The Board rati f-ied a contract and agreement by and between the Presi -
dent and Secre tary of Spring Grove Indiana , and the- City of Richmond,
- Indiana, whereby the City of Richmond agrees to furnish Electric Arc
Lamps to : Spring Grove for a pe ri o d of ten ye ars , be gi nning Novembe r
1st 19:23, at - the price of 60.00 per arc per year , payable monthly
by said. Spring Grove ,- India.na, ti 5-.00 per arc light and not less
than ten arc lights The Clerk was directed to communicate with Walter Palghnm Prest. of
Municipal Golf Association, requesting the associ ation to appoint
one of their members , to meet with the Board on Thursday Oct. 4, t
192,3 on matters pertaining to the Municipal Golf Course.
The Clerk vas directed to communicate with the Chief of Police of
- Indianapolis , Indiana, requ esti rig information regarding an automat-
ic Stop & Go sign at 30th and Meri di an Streets , Indianapolis , Indi--
aria, as to the success of same , cost and. where manufac tared.The Clerk was directed to prepare ordinance transferingg accounts ,
for vario us city departments including M.L. L.& P. P. also request -=
ing appropriation in sum of 54,000.00 for repairing , constructing
and ne ce s sary rr,teri als in Glen Miller Park.

The City Attorney was directed to look into the matter of having
an ordinance presented to Council, in matt er of taking care of
the tri mining .of shade trees , by the City and. compelling property
owners to pay for such tri mming, tinder- the sup ervi sio n of a City
Forrester.
The Board received bids for lamp posts and necessary equipment
for lighting system in -Reeve stonStreets, as follows, to -wit : -
