M. Messrs , D,McPai. 1 and Henley being present Absent , Mr. Land: Two rnerribers of said Boa rd being present , the fn'- lowing pro ce edings were had , to-wit :-- . The Board met to hear remonstrances if any of persons primarily as- sessed on account of the improvement of the alley betw een South 17th & 18th Street , by constructing a cement roadway, from South "A" St. _ to the north tenainous of said alley; thence east to South 18th St. under Improvement • Resolution No. 667-1923. No one ape easing or re- monstrating. the Board approved a final assessment roll confirming the original assessment roll heretofore approved. And now direct the same be transmitted• forthwi th to the Department of Finance . No one appearing or remonstrat- _ ing. The Board approved a final assessment roll confirming the on gi- nal assessment ro11 as heretofore_ approved. No one appearing or remonstrat.- ing the Board approved a final assessment ro11 confirming the original assessment roll as: heretofore approved. And now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance , The Board met to hear all persons interested in the matter of the • vacation of the west part of Johnson Street , between Tract No' s. 173 & 174 , Official Map , City , under Declaratory Reso luti o n No. 169-- 1923. No one remonstrating the Board takes final action on said reso- luti on the same being confirmed wi thout modification. And the Board now .order that a roll be prepared of all owners or holders of prop- erty, and of valuable interests therein sought , to be taken , or to be injuriously affected , which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially effected, and fix the benefits ti 25.00 The Board granted permission to the Dickinson Trust Co. to dig into North "C" Street along Lot No. 641 E. Starr's , Addition, . from 16th Street west and lay under pri va to contract a sewer . The Clerk was directed to re-advertise for bids ; for light posts & necessary erui. pment for street lighting_ in Reeveston Addition, bids • to be received October 1st., 1923, 10 o' clock A. M. D. C. Hess, Sept. , of M. E. L. & P. P. made a verbal report of hearing on Lighting rates be fore the Publ is Service Commission last Thursday, stating the Commission had approved a reduction in the power rat es iri an a,proximate sum of ',1345,000.Oa. Nonday September 17th , "1923. 479 The Board directed the Clerk to prepare an 'ordinance, to be pre- sented to the Common Council recommending that Dell B. Davis , City Civil Engi neer , be .a-ppointed a delegate for the City to at- tend the Convention of the American Soci ety of Municipal Improve- ments , to be held at Atlanta , Georgia, November I.2-13•-14-^15 & 16 , 1923, and requesting an appropriation in the sum of w1C0 .00 be made. to defray necessary legi ti Hate expenses, such as rai lroad fare and hotel bi lls. Whereas, The Board on September 13th , 1923, accepted .the offer of the A4z.ews Asphalt Paving Company, to pave the south si de of Main Street Wi th Asphalt from 8th to 9th Street , for a trial or test of said paving for said street , the ci ty to take up the brick and pay the said company the s m ,r ';)500.00 for such pavi ng , The Andrews Asphalt Paving Company" "other expenses in connection with said pavi rig , and no record baying been rra,de of same . The Board now direct such paving be made a matter of record as of date of Sep. 13th ,1923. Claimer in the amount of 4'6422.44 were allowed and ordered paid .
