The Board of Public Works of the City ' of Richmond, Indiana , met- in regular session at the office of said. Board Thursday August 30th, 1923, at 9 o'clock A. M. All the members of said Board' Messrs , Land, McFall and Henley being present. The following proceedings were .had, to-tit : - , Messrs , S.K.IMiorgan- 8c Bullerdick, appeared before the Board requestin€ water main be extended. in North 12th Street and a fire hydrant be placed at North 12th St. 8c New Paris Pike . The Board authorized. Chas. M. Lyons Stre et Commissioner to use his own automobi le the up-keep bf same be taken of by. the City, . the same as is being done with Dairy Inspector, until such time as the. City purchases him a runabout . Pursuant, to continuance to this date. The Board met to hear all per- sons_ interested or whose property is. afected by Declaratory Resolu- tion No. ' 167-1923, for the opening of S.W.5th Street from National Road south thru T.H. I.& E. property . do to the .fact that said T.H. I. • & E.Traction Co. , had applied for building permit to construct new barns east of their present barns , which had been refused by the Building' Inspector., and was advertised for a hearing before the Zon- ing Board of appeals, which hearing is set for Sep. 5, 1923. The Board on motion postponed said hearing to September .13th, 1923, at 10 o' clock A. M. The Board approved an agreement , signed by Edward H. Cureton Prest. and H. B. Custer, Secretary , of East End Club , Whereby the said East End Club, agrees to pay to the City of Richmond , Indiana, the sum of "25 .00 per company for each company, responding to an alarmm• of fi re in Wayne Township outside of the limits of said city, and ,$25.00 per hour per company after the first hour , employed in the said service • from the time the alarm is received by the Fire Dept. until the Fire Company or companies return to their houses, payment to be made upon . presentation to the treasurer of said Club by the City through its authorized officer, the agreement to cover the following territory; Commencing on East corporation line at corner of S. 23rd 8c• "E" Sts. thence east on S. "E"St. to Henley Road , north on Henley Road to Back- meyer Road, east on Backmeyers Road to a point opposite the Country Club Road , then north fo the P.C.C.& St.L.R.R.thence west on south side of railroad to the • East corporation line at Glen Miller. The Board now upon motion authorize the Richmond Fire Department to re- spond to an alarm of fire , coming from wi thin the said boundary. line above described. (See Agreement ) . / . . , The Boardvreceived bid for cement- mixer,-as follows, to-wit : The McConaha Go. , bid : One Jaeger Concrete Mixer , 3 to 4 ft .per batch----6---- 186 .00 f.o.b. The Board on motion award. the contract to said McConaha Co. , for fur- nishing said mixer . .
