• Monday August 27 th , 1923. •
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in -
regular session at the office .of said Board Monday August 27th ,1923,
at 9 o' clock A: M. All the. members .of said Board. .Messrs , Land ,McFai1
and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had ,to.wit : -

The Clerk was directed to notify the following gasoline di stributers.
serving gasoline at the ourb , of the fact that they are operating
without permission of the City, and notify them to file. bond in the
.sum of 0500.00, to save the city harmless in said operation as fol.-
'lows, to-wit : Moore Bros . 262 Ft-Wayne Avenue , Mr. Turner, 35-37
South 6th Street, ' Durant Motor Sales Co.221 -223 Main Street_
The Southern Surety Co. , were released -from the bond of Lucas Bros ,
'262 Ft-Wayne Ave , Lucas Bros. having sold the business.
The Board approved 'the bond of Chas. E.: Thomas as principal and the
Southern Surety Co, Sureties in the 'sum of )500 .00 Gasoline Dispenser
.1101 Sheridan Street, with agreement attached, "That the City -may .
order the pump removed at ' any ' time°. •
The matter of insurance on Street Dept . equipment increase on after.
charge , was referred to Sup't. Hess of Light Plant ,
Mr. McFall, was authorized to have City Jail repaired; -also to have
cement floor laid in Police Garage.
The Board unanimously addted Decalratory Resolution No. 169 -1923, to
. vacate a portion of Johnson Street at west end of street.

The City Civil Engineer, reported the completion: of improvements of
contracts under Improvement Resolutions No' s.667 677 -& 691-1923.
cement alleys between S.17th & 18th St, South • "A" St. north ; thence
east to 18th St.Alley . bet . N. 13th & 14th St, , "D" to "E" St. Alley
bet. S .20th & 21st St.from 1st alley north of S. "A" to 1st alley
south of Main St. The Board ac ce.pted the same and adop ted primary
assessment rolls covering said. improvements.
The Clerk was directed to request Standard Oil Co.Western Oil Co.
Pure Oil Co.Richmond Oil Co.Indi_ an Oil Co,Refiners Oil Co. and Sin-
clair Oil Co. to give the ci tya list of the names of owners and lo-
cation of the various curb pump stations in Richmond , being served. .
. by their company. • •
The Clerk was directed to return Petition to petitioners , for water
main in S.W. "A" St. from 9th to llth Street, as the Water Works re-
port there is but one resident "on said street between the points named
and none of 'the lot owners have given any guaranty for using water
if the main is extended.
