Monday August 20th,1923. •
The Board of PublicWorks of the City .of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday August 20th
1923, at 9 o' clock A. i. All the members of said Board Messrs , Land,
McPai1 and Henley being present . The following proceedings were
had, to-wit
In the matter of the improvement of the alley between South 17th
& 18th Street by constructing cement roadway from South "A" Street
to north terminous of the alley thence east to South 18th Street
under Improvement Resolution No. 667-1.923.. whereas C.B. Whitley
has dedicated a corner off of N.W.part Tract #500 Official Map ,
to make the turn at intersection of alleys ; the City hereby agrees
to pay the cost of cement work at this point .
The Clerk was directed to notify the School City to remove the old
water main from the 1st alley south of Main Stre et between South
_ 22nd & 23rd Street, the same being in a leaky condition and having
been abandoned by said School City .
In matter of grant of the Jenkins Vulcan Spring Co. , of ground north
of their office in North 8th Street, to be used for playground pur-
poses, the question of the city not having done anything to place
ground in proper condition was brought up , and the Clerk was dir-
ected to notify Mr. T. B. Jenkins that on account of Community .
service not having had a director this season, nothing had been ac-
complished , but the health dept. would be instructed to have the
weeds cut , and the City will make every available effort to place
the lot in proper shape for next year.
Permission was granted Paul Werking to cut the curb at #418 South
18th Street .
