The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday August 6th•, 1923, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs, -Land, MeFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : - The Board granted permission to Standard Oil Co. , to cut the curb on east Main Street east of North 19th Street for driveway 30'X 35' at filling station Lot 7, in L. & H. H. Petta's, Addition. The Board .granted permission to E. D. Grant to cut the curb for driveway at 330 College Avenue. The Board award contract to J. H. Niewoehner to place 1 inch water service from present meter location to new location instead of 1" also to, provide 1" water tap & 1" stop & baste instead ,of g" & 1" service from curb to basement, using lead pipe for the sum of $ 29.35 This does not include digging or filling of trench or cutting hole thru basement wall. A petition signed by 'Herman Pilgrim, for the opening of an alley 12' wide between South 10th & .11th Street, from South . "'" to "J" Street, was received and referred to Engineer for~ plans , etc . , The Clerk was directed to notify Building Inspector not to issue permit for filling station at Main & West lst Street , until further orders from the Board ; The Clerk was directed to- notify the C. & 0. • Ry. Co. , to fix catch basin at South "J" Street, as contractor is ready to put in curb . . Mr. J. Hayes of the Hayes Construction Co. ' agrees to. put in the tipple at City Light ,Plant switch , he to furnish all material & labor for concrete work, and to do other necessary .labor in instal- ling said tipple , free gratis, with the understanding that he may use said tipple free of any charge for the balance of the season for unloading material for his benefit, the Board accept said agree- ment subject .to the acceptance of same Mr. Hess, Sup't. of Light Plant. . • The Board allowed claim of Ora Burelison for compensation for 16 .weeks at $11.83 per week total $ 189 .28 as ordered by the Industrial Boar d of .Indiana, under the Indi.ana' Workman 'a Compen sati on Act, The •Clerk was directed to notify the T.H.I.& E.Tractlon Co. , that their Engineer John W. Mueller refuses to meet with the City Civil Engineer, in an effort to go over the respective figures submitted for taking their property in opening of SW. 5th Street. • The Clerk was dir ected to advertise for bids. for small. concrete miker for Street Department, portable gasoline 22 cubic feet' mixed material The Board then adjourned, Attest : =s°_ -Prest. o Board Clerk of Board V
