The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond. , Indiana, met in regulsr session at the office of said Board Thursday August 2d, 1923, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board. Messrs , Land, McFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit :- • The Board approved the contract 8c •bond of The Andrews Asphalt Pav- ing Co. , for the improvement of North & South 10th Street , •by re- surfacing said street with sheet asphalt , from North "A" to South _ "A" Street , under Improvement Resolution No. 688-1923. The Board directed the Finance Department to pay reserves due on following contracts , viz : Resolution No. 618-1922, Cement walk South "D" St, from 3.11th to 14th Street ; --Z. B. Pyle Co. , reserve due $84.66 Resolution No. 621-1922, Sanitary Sewer in 3.6th St, from South "H" St. to C.& 0.Ry. John S. Duke, reserve due $50 .23 .The Board grant the John W. Mueller Construction Co., temporary permission to tap the sewer at manhole in Richmond Ave, opposite the alley west of N.W.8th Street for draining excavations of build- ing being erected for the Fiber Conduit Co. , and for no other pur- pose. A communication was received from the United States Fidelity and Guarantty Company, notifying the City that the bond of Forest Mil- ler and Loring Miller for maintaining a gasoline dispenser at No. 35-37 South 6th St, and that the new owner a Mr. Turner refuses to pay the premium and said company desired to be released from the risk, this was referred to the City Attorney to notify Mr. Turner to safe guard the City by renewing the bond for said dispenser with the understanding that the city shall have the ri ght to order the removal of such dispenser at any time they may see fit . City Attorney was directed to get action on the improvement of N. 10th St. .or Ft.Wayne Ave at No. 262 , owned by J. Starr 'pad .place in street caused by removal of old wagon scales. D. C. Hess Sup' t. M.E.L.& P.P. was directed to install the turtle or traffic guide at 16th & Main Ste . and to turn the bulls-eye around with concave out •on other guides. Claims in amount of $1675.80 were allowed 8c ordered paid. The Board approved the various payrolls to August 1st , 1923. • • The Board then adjourned, • Attest : ,. Fr _-- • e'er o oard Clerk of Board
