The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday July 30th 1923, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs Land , McFall and Henley being present , the following proceedings were had, to-wit : - Pursuant to continuance to this date , the Board again take up the - heating in matter of opening Southwest 5th Street, from National Road south under Declaratory Resolution No. 167-1923. The Engineers not having had-time to compare various estimates, the Board contin- ued hearing ' on said proposed opening and fix the date of August 30th , 1923, at 10 o' clock A. M. for said hearing. The Board accepted the resignation of Albert H. Schneider Street Commissioner to take effect August 1st , 1923, and appoint Charles M. Lyons as Street Commissioner to fill the unexpired .term of said A. H. -Schneider. The City Engineer reported the completion of contract under Improve . meat Resolution No.658-1923, for the improvement of South "B" St. - by constructing cement sidewalk 6' wide on the north side, and curb &. gutter on both sides of said street , from South 21st to 23rd Street . The Board accepted said improvement and now direct an asses: meat roll be prepared. - The Clerk presented. letter received from The Andrews Asphalt Paving Co. , in regard to the paving of North & South 10th Street from "A" tob"A" Street, the Board extend the time for completion of work to Oct. 1st , 1923, and order maintai.nence bond for three years instead of fi ve years , and di rect said change s be made in the contract & The Clerk was directed to notify the M.E.L.& P.P. to remove the rotten pole in the alley between South 17th & 18th Street near Main Street, and to locate the new pole approximately 3 feet north of the present pole . The Board approved claims to the amount of $15 ,878.25 and order same paid, they also approved payrolls to July 28th, 1923.
