The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said. Board Thursday July 26th - 1923, at 9 o' clock A.M. All the members of said. Board , Messrs , Land, McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit: - Property owners owning property south of South "E" St. on the west side of South 23rd Street , appeared before the Board requesting the Electric light lines be extended to cover their properties, without cost to them_ as they were city tax payers and should not be discrim- inated against , the Board referred this. matter to- Mr. Hess Sup' t. , of M.E.L.& P.P. It having been reported that a curb was broken at 415 North if St. by truck moving piano for Weisbrod Music Store. The:. Clerk was in- structed to notify Weisbrod to have the same immediately repaired. The Board meets- to hear remonstrance if any pf persons primarily assessed for the improvement of the alley 1st north of Main St.from North 21st to 22nd St. and the alley be tween North 21st & 22nd St. from 1st alley north of Main to North "C" Street, under Improvement Resolution No.651-1922. No one appearing or remonstrating, The Board approved a final- assessment roll confirming in all things the prim- ary assessment roll as heretofore approived. And now direct that the assessment roll be forthwith tran5thi:tted to the Department of Finance . The Board meets to he ar rem oast ranee s if any, of persons primarily assessed for the improvement of the alley between Charles & Wil- liams Street by constructing a cement roadway from Boyer to North- west 2nd Street , under Improvement Resolution No. 659-1923. No. one . remonstrating or appearing. The Board approved a final assessmeat confirming the original assessment roll as heretofore approved,and • now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance. .. The Board meets to hear remonstrances if any, of- persons primarily • assessed for the improvement of the 1st alley south of North "C" Street, by constructing a cement roadway from North 6th to 7th St. under Improvement Resolution No. 672-1923. No one remonstrating or appearing. The Board approved a final assessment roll confirming the original assessment roll as heretofore approved by assessing the S.P. of Lots 42 & 65-5% of the cost of the improvement and assessing the north parts of said. lots 95% of the cost. And now direct the same as modified be transmitted forthwith to the Depart- ment of Finance . The Bo'ard‘ meets3 to', hear remonstrances if any, of persons primarily assessed for the improvement of the alley between North 19th & 20th St. by constructing a cement roadway from North "E" St. to Glen Ave. under Improvement Resolution No. 674-1923. No one appearing or re- monstrating. The Board approved a final assessment roll, confirming • the original assessment roll as heretofore approved. And now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance . 462 Thursday Julyn26 th , 1923. The Board granted permission to Bernard J. -Young, to cut the curb in front of 1518 North "E" Street , for driveway to garage . The Board awarded the contract for brick work on Public Comfort Station to Wm. Weaver and R. Lehman , according to plans & speci fi- cations complete job ez, $400.00. . The Board signed a tentative agreement to be submitted to The In-. dustri al Board. of Indiana, in matter of Ora Burelison vs . City for Compensation under the Indiana Workman' s Compensation Law. The Board received bids for the improvement of South "A" Street by resurfacing said street wi th one of the following materials ; Bituminous Macadam , Sheet Asphalt , Rock Asphalt or i e-inforced Concrete , from South 2nd to 5th Street, under Improvement resolu- tion No. 694-1923, as follows, to-wit : - " Hayes Construction Co. , bid ; Bituminous Macadam with 3" surface $1.70 per sq-yard. Rock Asphalt wi th 2" surface 2.00 " " Extra stone 3.00 • " ton. " The Andrews Asphalt Paving Co. , bid ; Sheet Asphalt 1 " binder & 1?" surface c1i2.23 per sq-yard Extra stone 3.00 " ton. " J. L. Teegarden , bid ; Re-inforced concrete wi th 8" depth 13. 10 per sq-yard " Issenbarger & Jessup, bid ; Re-inforced concrete pavement 8" depth $3.35 per sq-yard The Board now designate that said South "A" Street be paved from South 2nd to 5th Street with Bituminous Macadam . - The Board received bi ds for coal as advertised for City Bldg. Glen- Miller Park, Hose houses and Letention Hospital as follows, viz : " Mather Bros . , Co. , bid; One car load Pocahontas Run of Mine Coal , f.o .b.Richmond , $5.94,ton. 100 tons Pocahontas R. Co. , being the lowest received for deliver- ing coal to bins, the Board so award. the contract The Board ordered Electric light placed Sedgwick St.& Peacock hoad. • Fire Chief recommended alarm box for 8th St.& .&at .Rd.to be taken care of in making new budget for 1924, instead of SW."A" St.as requested. • The Board then adjourned, 9 Attest ; - - " .
