The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday May 28th, 1923, at 9 o' clock A. 1.2. • A11 thelmembe rs of said Board Mes rs , Land. , McFall and Henley being present , the following proceedings were had , to-wit :- The Board accepted improvement under Improvement Resolution No. 655-1922, under the .contract of Daniel G. Burkhardt, and order an assessment roll prepared. . . The Board granted permission to-E. C. Dickinson to, cut the curb ' at 229 Nort i 7th Street, from private driveway. The Board received a communicaticn from J. Brandon Griffis, stating - that Ora Burleson an employee of the City was injured March 30,1923, • and asking Compensation and medical expenses beginning •April 7th, 1923, A. H. Schneider Street Commissioner under vlibm said Burleson is employed stated that he did not know of. him having been injured, and the coommuhication was on motion referred to Street Commissioner. The Board approved the contract & bond of Z. B. Pyle Co. , contract- ors under Improvement Resolution No'. 679-1923 • The .Board , met to hear remonstrances from all persons' whose property is affected 'by the opening of Southwest 5th Street, from the south line of the National Road south to south line of Tract No. 216 ,. Official Map , of City, as provided for under Declaratory Resolution • • NO. 167-19 23. After hearing al.l persons interested who appeared - . a remonstrance against said proposed opening having been filed t signed by 'the Terre Haute Indianapolis & Easter Traction Co.. , by A. Gordon, Sup't. , and 171 property owners remonstrating against said proposed opening, the Board continued hearing on said -proposed opening to June' llth, 1923, for further information regarding the prolaabbe damages accruing on account of same, and directed' the City Engineer and members of the Board Messrs, Henley and MCEail to make up the 'probable damages to be awarded and the amount of bene - fits to be asses-sed against property benefited and report to Board at said meeting of June llth, 1923. • The Board received communication from C .C.Pitts regarding the de- •dicating right of way for sewer across his property Lot No. 3,Pitts & Hodgins, Addition, the Clerk was directed to arfswer the same that it was their opinion that the sewer will in no way injure the prop- erty by said sewer, going over the same .
