Thursday May 24th, .1923.
The Board of Public Works• of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday May 24th,
1923, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs ,
Land, McFail and Henley being present , the following proceedings
were had, to-wit :-
Permission was- granted R. A. McClelland to cut the curb for drive-
way at Lot No. 9, on east side of College Avenue.
Permission was granted A. J. Miller & Son to cut the curb for drive-
way at Nos. 733-735 South 9th Street . _
_ Permission was granted Joseph Kuhlenbeck to cut the curb for drive-
_ way at 28 Southwest 2nd Street .
The Board meets to receive bids under Improvement Resolution No.
673-1923, for the improvement of the alley bets een North "E"• & "F"
Street, by constructing sanitary sewer and cement, roadway in said '
alley from North 23rc1 -t o -24th Street as follows, to-wit : -
" John S . Duke , bid : -
Sewer Complete e 02.40 per lin-ft. Cement roadway 00.24 sq-ft.
" Daniel G. Burkhardt, bid :
Sewer Complete $2.85 per lin-ft. Cement roadway $0. 28 sq-ft.
" Z. B. Pyle Co, bid : -
Sewer Complete 07.50 per lin-ft. .Cement roadway 'y 0.28 sq-ft. °
The bid of John S . Duke being the lowest and within the estimate
of the City Engineer, the contract was so awarded.
The Board received bids for the improvement of North"A"Street , by
constructing cement sidewalk 7ft. wide on both sides except , where
cement walk is already laid & in good condition, from North 7th to
16th Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 67.9-1923, as follows,
to-wit :
" Z. B. Pyle Co, bid :
Cement walk 7 ft. wide $0. 22V per sq-foot .
" Daniel G. Burkhardt, bid:
_ Cement walk 7 ft. wide 00.2321 per sq-foot .
The bid of Z.B.Pyle Co. being the lowest & within the estimate
of the City Engineer, the contract was so awarded.

The Board received bids for the improvement of North & South 10th
Street, by re-surfacing the street with one of the following mater-
ials; Bituminous Macadam,Sheet Asphalt ,Bituminous Concrete , or Re-
inforced Concrete, from North "A" to South "A" Street , under Im-
provement Resolution No. 688-1923, as follows, to-wit :
" Hayes Construction Co. bid :
Bituminous macadam 3" surface--51.69 sq-yrd. extra stone $3.50 ton.
" The Andrews Asphalt Paving Co. , bid; I/
Bituminous concrete+`1 2 binder 2" . surface 02. 25 sq-yrd.

Re-inforced concrete 8" depth . 02.99 sq-yrd.
The Board now enters its preliminary order designating that said
Street be paved with Bituminous Macadam.
