HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-21-1923 Office of Board of Public V orks, City.- off �idhittnal . , India , Monday May 21.s t, 1923. - The Board of Public Works, of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met - in regular session at, the office of said Board , Monday May 21st , -1923, at 9 o' clock A. M. Messrs , McFall and Henley present , Absent, Er. Land. Two mezabers of said Board being . present , the following proceedings were .had , to -wit : - - - The Board now confi nn their preliminary order desi gnation that North "B" Street be improved by constructing cement sidewalks. 5' wide curb & gutter on both sides and raving the roadway, from North 7th to 8th Street, as provided' for under Improvement Resolution No. 685-1923, the ten day periotk having expired, and no petition having been fi led for any other material for paving said roadway dway - than that as selected by said. Board , the Board now award the con- tract for said improvement to the Hayes Constructbn Co. , specify- ing that said roadway be paved us Ong Bituminous- Macadam roadway on said street from North 7th to 8th Street , at prices named in their. bid submitted on May 7th, 1923.. - The City Civ-3' Engineer reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 655-1922, for the improvement of the alley between South 10th & llth Street, by cement roadway from South "G" to "I" Street, referred to Mr. Henley for investigation. Mr. Henley reported 2 line of poles in alley between North 13th 14th Street from North "0" to "E" Street, and requested the matter be referred to Mr. Hess, to see if one line cou ld not be taken out before said alley is cemented, concurred in. The Clerk was directed to request The Richmond Home Telephone Co. to re'-locate a .pole' in the center of North- "a" Street at the. alley between North 16th & 17th Street. . The Board granted permission to J. W. Lamb,- to cut the curb for dri vewai at 510 S.W. "A" Str eet . - The Board appointed Garland. Willett and T. Ki: Hadley, additional appraisers to assist Messrs , J.F.Davenport J.H.Lichtenfels and Chas; D. Shideler, to appraise Street Car Co. property to be con- deaned in opening of S.W. 5th Street . Fire Chief presented the following ; Earl Mann Lieutenant of No.1 Hose Company, suspended Earl Williams driver of No. 1. Company for - 10 days 'for :being intoxicated while on duty , on motion the action of Lieutenant and Fire Chief was concurred in. The Board directed oup' t. of Light Plant to install Arc Lamp at West 5th St. and the Peacock Road.
