The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the o.ffice of said Board Thursday May 3rd ,
1923, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs ,
Land , McFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings
were had , to -wit : -
The Board in consideration of the annual rental of $6.00 Lease to
The Richmond Home Telephone Company of Richmond , Indiana, space of
the dimentions of about three feet ten inches by about five feet
three inches on the ground floor of brick building situated at cor-
ner of South 9,th & "E" Streets, known as No. 4 Hose House; said
Company shall use said premises for a telephone distributing station
only, and for such purpose shall have right of ingress and egress to
- and from said premises for its servants and employees at all times
during said term of Three years. (See' lease ) .
The natter of -petition of Terre Haute , Indianapolis. & Eastern Tractio
• Co. for transmissi on "line on South "E" Street eastbto South 23rd St.
and north fit Main' 'Street , filed with the Clerk_April 2nd, 1923, and
referred to City Attorney, was presented by the City Attorney with-
out any recommendations, and on motion was laid on the tab&e.
_ The Board approved bill of sale from the Richmond Home Telephone Co.
selling to the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant of . said
City , The concrete and cedar pole lead. on south side of National
Road west from Easthaven Avenue to the School house on the north
side of said road , a distance of about 1 3/4 miles, in Wayne County,
Indiana, for and in consideration of said Light Plant paying to said.
to lepho ne company, the sum of $468 .00.
The Board approved a primary assessment roll , in matter of vacation
of second alley north of South "E" Street , running from South 6th
St. east to the alley, under Declaratory Resolution No.166-1923,
and fix Thursday May 17th , 1923, as a date of hearing remonstrances.

The Clerk was directed to ordere'"No Parking Signs-", (1,16) ' 142 from
Safety Traffic Guide Co. , Elkhart, Indiana, to be charged to miscel-
lanous expense Police Department. ,

The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 167-1923,
To appropriate and -condemn sufficient lots- and lands, to Open South-
west 5th - Street, from South side of National Road, to the south line
of Tract No. 216 , Offi cial Map of City , and fix the terri tory injur-
iously or beneficially affected. (See Resolution No. 167-1923) and
fix Monday May 28th , 1923 at 9 o' clock A. M. as a day for hearing of
or fi ling of remonstrances by persons interested in, or affected by
said • opening of Southwest 5th Street .
The Board then adjourned,
