The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said. Board. , on Monday April.
9th , 1923, at 9 o' clock A. M. .All the members of said Board ,Messrs,
Land , McFall and Henley being present•, thenfollowing proceedings
were had, to wit : - •
• ' The Board meets to hear all persons interested in, or vih oee prop-
erty is affected by the improvement of• South llth Street, by con-
structing cement curb & gutter on both sides of street , from South
"E" to "G" Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 671-1923.
After hearing all persons interested who appeared.. The Board decide
that the benefits to property liable -to 'be assessed for said im-
provements are equal to the cost of same as reported 'by the City
Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final action, the resolution

The Board meets to hear all persons interested in, or v:hos e proper-
ty is of fe ete d by the improve men t of the, alley be toy e en North "E" &
"P" Street; by constructing a sanitary sewer; and paving. the road-
way the full width thereof with concrete , from North 23rd to 24th .
.Street, under Improvement Resolution No.673-1923. After hearing
allmpersons interested who appeared. The Board decide that the bene-
fits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are
equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer,
and thereupon take final action. on same , the resolution being con-
firmed without modification.
The Board meets to hear all persons interested in, or whose proper-
ty is affected by the improvement of the alley between North 19th
& 20th Street, by constructing a cement roadway the full width
the reef, from North "E" Street to Glen Avenue ; under Improvement •
Resolution No. 674-1923. 'After hearing all• persons interested who
appeared. The Board decide that the benefits to property liable to
be assessed for -said improvements ' are equal to the cost of same
as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon take final
action, " the resolution being- confirmed without modification.
The. Board meets to hear all, persons intere sted in., or whose property
is affected by the constructi on of sanitary sewer in the alley be-
• tween North 14th & 15th Street , from North "B" to "A" St. and in
"A" Street to 14th Street, under Improvement Resolution No.675-
1923. A petition signed by the original petitioners requesting tx
the improvement be not made. The Board on motion rescinded said •
reso luti on.

The Board meets to hear all persons interested in, or whose property
is affected by the improvement of the alley between South 8th & 9th
Street , by constructing cement roadway from South "C" to "E" Street •
under Improvement Resolution No. 676 -1923. After hearing all per-
sons intere'e ed who' aippeared . The Board decide that the benefits
to property liable to be assessed, for said improvements are equal
to the cost of same as reported. by'hthe. City: Civil Engineer, and
thereupon take final action on same , the resolution being confirmed
with out modifi cation.

The Board meets to hear all persons interested in, or whose prop-
. erty is affected by the improvement of the alley between North 13th
and 14th Street, by constructing a cement roadway the full width
thereof , from North "D" to "E". Street , under, Improvement Resolution
No. .677-1923. After hearing. all persons interested who appeared .
the Board_ decide that the benefits to property liable to be assessed
for said improvements are equal to the cost of same as reported by
the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon take final action on same the
resolution being confirmed without modification.
The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 166-1923.
to vacate the 2nd alley north of South "E" Street,. from South 6th
Street , east to alley running north & south . .
A petition .signed by Earl Crabb et-al, to improve the alley 1st •
west of North 10th Street, from North "I" Street to the alley north
running east & west , was received and referred to the Engineer for
-plans , etc . ,

Upon the recommendation of Mr. -Hess and urc n petition of the Auto •
-
motive Gear Co. , the Board ordered an Arc Light placed. at South 8th
and "0" Streets
A petition signed by E. E. •Eggemeyer et-al , for extensi on of water
mains in North 12th Street and New Paris Pike to 19th Street was
received and referred to Richmond City Water Works .
The Board approved contract & bond of Hayes Construction Co. Con-
tractors under Improvement xesolution No. 661-1923; also 665-1923.
The Board directed the Civil Engi neer to prepare plans & specifi-
cations for repaving of Main Street, from 4th to 12th Street.
The Clerk was directed to notify the Richmond City Water Works , also
the Richmond Light ; Heat & Power Co. , to lay the water and gas rrains
in the parkways in Reeve stop Addition Streets , as imprvizeut being
improved under Improvement Resolution No' s. 661 & 665-1923.
• The Mayor presented communication rece ived from The ,Aftermath Club
fixing the .fi.r st week in May , 1923, as "Clean-up Week" and asking
the co -operation of the City, the Board endorse the action and agree
• to co-operate by employing more men if-neceasary to gather the rubbiE
etc . , during said. week.
