Meeting Minutes - ; Y 2 .

Present : Doug Erickson, Faythe Ellis Peter Ogozalek, Peggy Erickson
Guest : Susan Bridges, President, Brewster Ponds Coalition
Location : Outdoors, behind the Stony Brook Elementary Gymnasium
Meeting called to order at 9 : 05 by Doug Erickson .
Faythe Ellis moved to approve the minutes of the last meeting . Seconded by Peter Ogozalek
Doug asked if there were any questions . There were none .
Doug asked , "All in favor?" , and all present answered , "Aye . "
Doug then read from the survey concerning the retaining wall and fish ladders . He stated that it was still
in the planning stage, and that it would be taken up at a meeting with concerned parties the following
Monday, Sept . 14, 2020 .
He repeated that everything is still in the planning stage, and that there would be more information
when the engineers were finished .
Faythe then asked about the report on funding resources . Also, she asked if CPC funds would be
needed .
Doug responded that he would talk to the surveyors .
Faythe added that CPC funding for the Herring Run wall repair would be addressed at a public hearing
on October 28, 2020 .
Our guest, Susan Bridges, then addressed the committee . She described a current project of the BPC,
updating their Pond Guide , and said it will provide information for tourists about the locations of
Brewster ponds . She then presented BPC' s request that a " hang box" for copies of the guide be put up
near Lower Mill Pond on Millsites property, and pointed out that page 5 of the guide is devoted to the
Gristmill and the Herring Run . She quoted from the BPC' s Mission Statement as put forth in the guide,
stressing that the BPC' s mission is , in part to protect the ponds of Brewster .
Faythe responded to the request with reservations , specifically and especially that an outdoor display of
a hang box from one group would open the door to other groups for similar requests . She added that
she would welcome a hang box for the BPC guide inside the Gristmill .
Ms . Bridges added that Brewster- Conservation Trust had selected a spot, and that would be "our back-
up plan" .

Doug then added that the Millsites Committee regularly receives requests from individuals and groups
for informational and memorial displays, benches, plaques, tree plantings, signage, etc .
Ms . Bridges asked if the hang box could be attached to the shed .
Faythe and Doug both explained that the shed was constructed mainly to house a port- a - potty .
Doug made a motion to defer the request to the next meeting .
Peter seconded the motion .
There were questions as to when to expect that the next meeting would be scheduled .
Faythe told Ms . Bridges that she would be willing to scan the guide and upload it to the Millsites
website .
There was a vote, with all 4 members in the affirmative, to postpone addressing BPC' s request to the
next meeting .
Faythe moved that the meeting be adjourned .
Peter seconded the motion .
The meeting was adjourned at 9 : 32 am
