Monday February 26th , 1923.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana , met
in regular session at the office of said Board , Monday February
26th , 1923, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said. Board,
Messrs , Land , •McFail and Henley being present . The following pro-
ceedings were had , to-wit :- _ .
-/ - . • The Board rec eived notice from the P. C.C.& St.L. Ry. offi ci als

they were read* to begin negotiations for the reconstruction of
their bridge on NW. 5th Street ; and requested a meeting with the
Boa rd of Public Works- and County Commi ssioners . The Clerk was ,in=
' structed to arrange for said meeting with the commissioners .
The Board rec ei ve d notice from -D. C.Hess., Sup' t. M.E.L.& P.P. that
the cause for the 'breaking or burning of.t of lamps in the traffio
guides, is due to automobiles and trucks bumping into them, and _
the jar breaking the filament, referred to Police Dept . ,
The Board directed the Clerk to place order for the 300 ' of rubber
hose for street dept. use with the New York Belting & tacking Co.
. provided they furnish a 23" Fire Dept . Standard National Coupling
on both ends of each section.
• Upon motion of Mr. Henley, the contract for labor & material in
matter of installing "Toilets" both ladies & gents , in Glen Miller
Park, was awarded to John H. Thorman, at the price named. in his
bid submitted. therefore 0790 .00 ; using lead pipe for water service.
The Board El warded the contract for- furnishing. 425 Bbls. of cement
• ,to M.E.L.& P.P. to Mather Bros . Company at the price of 02.31 net.
Upon the re c ommendatio n of City Engineer, the contract for fur-
nishing 20,000 gal . more or • le ss of Tar.via "B" was awarded to the
Barrett Company, at their.. prices named. in bid , - viz. 0.15(.25 ap-
plied on streets and .09.5.5e 'f.o.b.. theirnplant .
Mr. McFall was directed to have the North 10th. Street Park house
papered. .
Mr. H. Fulle , Park Sup't. was directed .to tear down the Arch- at
entrance to Glen Miller Park.
Sup' t.. D. C. Hess, of M.E.L.&. P. P. was directed to remove the sign
from the Glen Miller Park, Arch , to a point in the north end of
the Park along the railroad..

The Board selected J.F.Davenport , to appraise property on NW.8th
Street , belonging to Levi . C.. Peacock, together with A.M.Gardner
appointed by City School Board. .
Mr. John Reed appeared before the Board , requesting them to pur-
chase a strip of- ground owned by him loacated on SW. "D" St. bet.
2nd & 3rd Street, the Board takes same under advisement .
