HomeMy Public PortalAboutInspection Schedule INSPECTION SCHEDULE The building permit holder is responsible for arranging the required inspections before proceeding with additional work. Failure to do so may result in reinspection fees, having to expose concealed work, or issuance of a Stop Work Order. Inspections must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance by emailing the building department at Building@Brewster-MA.Gov or by calling (508) 896-3701 x1125. We Do Not accept inspection requests via the ViewPoint/OpenGov online permitting system!! Sono-tubes/Footings After sono-tubes/footing forms are in place, 48” min. depth from grade, but before any concrete is poured Pre-cast footings: 48” depth min. from grade, must be inspected prior to backfill Footings & Foundations with Rebar Inspection of UFER Ground by Wiring Inspector First inspection of footings with forms, rebar, and UFER Ground in place before concrete is poured Second inspection after walls are poured, stripped, and waterproofed, prior to backfilling Footing & Foundation without Rebar Shallow footings/Mono-pours for accessory buildings: inspection prior to pour Footing form inspection prior to footing being poured and walls are formed Second inspection after walls are poured and stripped, before backfill and after waterproofing Sheathing/Nailing After exterior plywood is installed, prior to house wrap being installed and prior to installation of siding and trim or windows. Structural/Wind Code elements such as roof rafter strapping and portal frame embedded tie-downs must be installed/exposed Deck Frame After Sono-tube/footing inspection (see above) After framing and all structural connections including lateral tension devices are complete Prior to covering framing with decking or trim Rough Frame After being made tight to the weather After any required rough electrical, plumbing and gas inspections are complete After any required HVAC ducting or sheet metal work is installed and inspected After all required fire caulk and fire blocking are complete Structure must meet MA Wind Code Requirements 780 CMR 1611.0 Wind Load in addition to standard Building Code Requirements Insulation After Framing inspection is approved, after insulation, vapor barriers, air barriers, and draft stopping are installed Certificate from Insulation Contractor required Window and Door Replacement work: - inspection must be prior to installation of interior trim Final After final electrical, plumbing, gas, mechanical and fire inspections have been approved After any required duct/HERS testing has been completed NOTES: First Re-inspection Fee: $75. Subsequent: $125. Applies to Inspection Failures, and No-Access Visits.
