Thursday February 22nd , 1923.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met
in regular sessi on at the office of said Board Thursday February
22nd , 1923, at 9 o' clock A. M:Z: Present Messrs, 1t4cFail & Henley.
_Absent , Mr. Land. Two members of said Board being present . The-
• following proceedings were had , to -wit : - -
•
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 667=1923.
providing for the improvement of the alley between South 17th &
18th Street ,- by constructing a cement- roadway from South "A" Street
to north terminous of alley ; thence east to South 18th Street.
The Board meet to hear all persons interested or whose property is
• affet3ted by the improvement of South 20th Street, from South "B"
Street to Reeveston Road ; by constructing cement sidewalk 5' wide,
curb: & gutter oneft. wide, cement driveways and parkway; retaining
curb ; grading parkways-, ro adways and sid ewalks and paving the road-
way wi th one of,the following kinds of modern city pavements `,to-wit :
Tarvia Macadam, Cement, Rock Asphalt , Sheet Asphalt or Mulsi.fied
Asphalt and planting of trees along both sides of the street and
thru the center of the parkway as provided under Improvement Reso-
• lution No. 665-1923. No one. appearing and no remonstrances having
been filed, the Board decide that the benefits to property liable
to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same
as reported by the City Civil Engineer , and thereupon take final
action on same , the. resolution being confirmed without modification.
The Clerk reported the various complaints made at Council meeting
and referred to the Board. Also, the action of the Common. Counoil
at their last session held February- 19th , 1923, _i.e . Requesting the
Board of Public Works that a Municipal Golf Course be not placed in
Glen Miller Park. .
The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids on the Relief Sewer
under Improvement Resolution No.662-1923
Councilman L. Salzarulo, appeared before the Board requesting that
a fire alarm box be placed at North 16th & . "J" Street, referred to -
Chief of Fire Department, for investigation. - .

The Board decide to place a celler window in the old property at
South 5th & "G" Sts , and employe Harry Hodgin to do the work.
Pursuant to advertisement, the Board received 'bids for furnishing to
the City 20,000 gallons more or less. Tarvia "B" or its equal , as
follows , viz : -
" The- Barret Company, Bid :

cars of 10 ,C00 gallon- capaci ty , F.O.B.Barrett plant-- 0.09.4c! gal .

The Board take the bid under advisement until a full meeting of
the Board.

The Board received bids for installation of toilets in Glen Mil-
ler Park, as follows, to-wit : -

The Board take all bi ds under advi sement , unti 1 further invest-
igation and unti 1 a full membership of the Board is present .
The Board sign agreement and contract for',the:flit n shd.ng electric
power and current to the St. Lukes Hospital.
The Board requested Mr. Mc Fail, to go be fore the Board of Wayne
Commissioners Saturday A. M. in behalf of the City , in matter of
T. H. I. & E. Traction Co' s. Transmission lines thni the county. •
The Board decide to meet in the of fi ce of Sup' t . of Light Plant
Saturday February 24th , 1923, at 2 o' clock P. M. for the purpose
of discussing the advisability and the proposed transmission line
of ele ctri ci ty thrrt the ci ty by the T. H. I. & E. Traction Co.
with the Mayor , Sup' t. of Light Plant and City Attorney , and the
Clerk was directed to request Mr. Land , prest . of. Board and Wm.
H. Kelley , City Attorney, to_ be at Said meeting .
Claims in the amount of $8,436 . 56 and .ordered pa.i d.
