The Board of Public Works of the City of iichmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday February 15th , 1923, at 9 o' clock A. • M. Messrs , Land and Henley being pres- ent, Mr. McFall absent . Two members of said Board being present the following proceedings were had, to-wit : - The Board met to hear allcpersonscintefeste, or whose. property is affected by the improvement of Reeveston Road from South 18th to South 23rd Street ; Also , South 21st Street from South "B" Street to the iieeveston Road . by paving the roadway with one of the fol- lowing kinds of modern city pavements , to-wit : Cement ;Rock Asphalt , Sheet Asphalt , Mulsified Asphalt , as provided for under Improvement Resolution N,o., 661-1923. After hearing all persons interested who appeared and carefully considering a petition presented signed by Herbert Keck , et-al, to include specification for Macadam road with Tarvia Binder. The Board decdde that the benefits to prop erty li- able to be assessed for said improvement are equal to . the cost of same as estimated by the City Civil Engineer and, thereupon take final action. The resolution was confirmed by modifying the same & . instructing the City Civil Engineer to add specifications for a Tar-Macadam roadway, and directing the Clerk to advertise for bids for the five kinds of street. • A petition was presented for the improvement of South 17th Street by constructing cement sidewalks on both sides of street, from Main to South "A" Street, referred -to Engineer for plans . A petition was presented to improve South "J" Street ,. from South 6th to 9th Street ,- by constructing cement sidewalks 5' wide and cement curb & gutters on both sides of said street , referred to City Civil_ Engineer for plans , etc ., The Bce.rd approved a primary assessment roll in matter of vacating a part of the alley between North 13th & 14th Street, from North"G" Street north to the alley between North "G" & "H" Street , under De- claratory Resolution No. 163-1923, and fix Monday'March 5th,1923 at 9 o' clock A. M. as the time and date for hearing of remonstrance on said vacation. The Clerk was directed to request the Board of School Trustees, also Levi Peacock to meet _with them Monday February 19th, 1923 at 9. A.M. for conference regarding purchase of lots abutting Northwest 8th Street . . Fire Chief reported fireman Martin Swisher disabled by having his ankle broken at a fire on February 13th , 1923. The Clerk was directed to request the Committee on Public Property etc . , and Committee on Public Welfare of Council_ to meet .with them Monday February 19th , 1923, at 7 o' clock, to discuss purchase of additional park property. 376 Office of Board of Public Works Thursday February 15th , 1923. Pursuant to advertisement, the Board received bids for furnish- ing 300 feet more or less of rubber hose with couplings for use of Street Department , as follows, to --wit : -- New York Belting & Packing Co. ,bid: 300 ft. rubber hose 2" with 22" couplings & reducers-75gf per ft. Boston -Oven Hose 8c nubber Co, bid;• 300 ft. rubber hose 2* couplings $1.00 or 2" hose C .900' per ft. Miller Bros. Hardware Co. , bid . 300 ft.24" Yale rubber hose .920' per ft . couplings 2. 25 extra set. Grether Fire Equipment Co. bid ; 300' 22 " 'C $1.12 or 2" Cs' S 1.00 per ft. standard couplings --- /,ca-_'- 2Vy ii_ f1 , United .States Rubber Co. Eureka Dept . bid ; 300 ft . extra heavy rubber hose 2E" internal diameter, , 51. 20 ft. The bid of New. York Belting & Packing Co. being the lowest , but the same not being specific enough for understanding, the Board hold the bids for further information and di erect the Clerk to write for the same . • The Street Commissioner was directed to investigate and report as to the extent of the injuries of John B..
