Thursday January 25th , 1923.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday January
25th , 1923, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board
Messrs , Land, McFall and Henley being present , the following pro-
ceedings were had , to-wit : -
The Board received the following communication, viz :
Gentlemen :
The undersigned, Chief of the Fire Department of the City
of Richmond , hereby recommends the dismissal of Frank Davis of Hook
& Ladder Company No. 1 for the reason that he has bear guilty of vio
lating the rules of the Department-- disobedience of orders., and for
being absent without leave . The undersigned is prepared and ready to
present the facts in connection with such dismissal upon any hearing
which may be demanded by said. Frank Davis .

Upon motion of Mr. McFall, . the Board unanimously accepted the recom-
mendation of Fire Chief Miller, and said Frank Davis is dismissed
from the Department.
The Board accepted an invitation to lunch with the Board of Direct-
ors of the Rotary Club, Monday noon at Elk' s Club, Jan. 29th. to dis
cuss the plan of installing a municipal golf course at Glen Miller
Park.
A petition for re-surfacing with a tarvia binder of Richmond Ave ,
from West 5th to 7th Street, was received placed on file .
The Clerk was directed to request J.C .Derbyshire Sup' t , of C.& 0.
Ry. Co. together with H. Bertram , Engineer, to meet with them at the
next meeting of Board Monday Jan. 29th, 19 23.
The Board signed Transformer contract with the Westinghouse Electric
& Mfg. Co. ,
The Clerk was directed to write to the Mayor in regard to Municipal
Dinner to be held at Light . Plant , as to date etc . ,
