The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular_ session at the offi ce of said Board Monday January .8th , -
- 1923, at 9 o cl o ck •A. M. All the membe rs of said Boa rd Me s s.rs ,Land ,
McFall and Henley being present ; the following proceedings 'Were
had, to-wit : -
The Building Inspector etas instructed, not to grant a permit to
Chas. Sieweke to remove the old house on Main Street near 16th
to North "B" Street , until further— notice . . •

A petition signed by Starr Piano Co. requesting an Arc Light at
South 1st & "A" Street was received and referred to Sup' t .Light Plant
The City Engineer reported in the matter of co ;: of improving of
Sherman St. from Sheridan to Butler and Butler St. from Sherman to
South terminal of Butler, also as. to the valuo.ti on of real estate
• as. assessed for taxati on. -The total cost of the improvement of these
streets .v -ll cost on. an average of - 60/0' more than the prop erty is
-assessed for taxation, the Board on moti on' find • it impossible to
recommend that 'these 'streets be improved. •
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 658-1923
-for the improvement of South "B" St. by constructing cement curb & •
gutter on both sides of street and cement sidewalk 6' wide. on the
,orth side of street from South 21st to 23rd Street . •
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 659-1923, •
for the improvethent �of the alley between .Zhailes -8c Williams Street
by constructing a cement roadway, from Boyer to Northwest 2nd Street.
The Board unanimously' adopted Improvement Resolution No. 660-1923, •
for the improvement of South 5th Street , by constructing cement curb
with one foot gutter on both sides and paving the roadway of said
street with one of. the modern kinds of city pavements. to wi-t : Brick-- _
Concrete - Asphalt - or Creosoted Wood-Block , from South "E" to the
north line of South "H" Stre et .
The Board directed Sup' t . Hess of the M.E.L.& P.P. to install a tank
and pump for storing of Kerosene to their stock room for the benefit -
of the city tractors of the Street Department.
The Board held .coriferance wi th Sup' t.Higgi.nbottomeof P.C. C.&& St.L.RR'.
who promised his best efforts to have a 60 ' bri dge on 17.5th St. •
Claims to the amount of. • }11, 887.68 were allowed & ordered paid .
