HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-14-1922 Office of Board of rublic works , 327 City of Richmond , Indiana , Thursday September 14 , 1922. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday September 14th , 1922, at 9 o' clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs , Land , McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had , to-wit : - The Board meets to hear remonstrances, if any, of persons primarily assessed on account of the condemnation of right-of-way for sewer between South 4th Street and the right-of-way of the C .& O.Railviay from South TTD'T Street to South "E" Street, as provided under Declar- atory Resolution No. 162--1922. No-remonstrance having been filed. The Board approved a final assessment roll of benefits & damages as heretofore approved, and now declare the said land appropriated & condemned for said right-of-way, and now direct that a copy of said assessment roll be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance The Board on motion awarded the contract for the construction of a sanitary sewer between South 4th Street & C. & 0. My. Co. right-of- way from South "DTI Street to "E" Street, under Improvement resolut- ionNo.637 -1922, to John P. Hipskind, at the price named in his bid submitted therefore i . e p1.31 per lin-ft a on June 8th, 1922. The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of the following contracts as follows , to-wit: - Cement alley between iV. "F" St. arid P.C.C .& St.L.R.R. from N. 22nd to 23rd St , under Resolution No.6147 1922; Construction of Sanitary Sewer on South 5th St. from TTCTT to T,H,T Street , under Resolution No: 620-1922i Alley between South 10th & llth St, from TTB" to "C" St . Resolution No. 622-1922 . Cement sidewalk on east side of N.W. 2nd Street from Lincoln Street to Richmond Avenue , Resolution No.638-1922. All above referred to Mr. Henley, for investigation before acceptance by Board. - The Board directed the Clerk to prepare an ordinance for money to - defray the expenses of D,B.Davis , City Engineer, to the Convention -of Engineers to be. held at Cleveland , Ohio. The Board not being able to decide on installing of new boilers il. City Building, on motion t:e:je:ctca .1...the'-.bids received on heating plant . And directed the Clerk to see Graham & Decker as to placing new tubes in the present boiler . In matter of petitions for alley lights in alley between South 7th and Sth Streets , from "A" to :'B" Street, the board decdde this is a residential district , and they will not start to placing lights I/ in residential districts. In matter of cause and hearing cf case of E.E.Miller Fire Chief VS. Homer Miller, driver at No.3 house, taken under advisement on Sep.11 1922. The Board find the defendant guilty of conduct unbecoming a members of City Fire Department as alleged in the complaint ( insert ) and on motion the said Homer Miller was dismissed from the service of Richmond Fire Department. .
