Monday September 11, 1922.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday September
filth , 1922, at 9 o' clock A.M. All the members of said Board Messrs,
Land, McPail and Henley being present , the following proceedings
were had , to-wit : -
Pursuant to continuance to this date , the Board takes up the hear-
ing and remonstrance filed against improvement of the alley between
North 13th & 14th Street from North "C" to "D" Street , under Im-
provement Resolution No . 653-1922. After examining the remonstrance
it was found that there are 18 resident property owners residing
along the lines of said improvement 11 of whom have signed the re-
monstrance against said improvement , the Board takes final action •
on same , the resolution on motion of Mr. Henley was rescinded.
The Board received letter from Ray K. Shiveley, attorney for B.F.
Williams, in regard to concessions at Glen Miller Park, which was
referred to the City Attorney.
The Board on motion grant permission to John F. Hipskind , to file
a maintenance bond in liue of 5% retained on construction of sewers
_ in the Wrightland Addition, under Improvement Resolution No. 616-1921.
The Board award contract to the Westinghouse Electric & Mfg. Co.
for Oil Puri firer for M.E.L.& P.P. at price named in their bid sub-
mitted therefore on Sep. 7th, 1922, i .e 0736.00 f. o.b their works .
Sup't , , D.C.Hess of Light Plant was directed to furnish light and
current for power to Wayne County Fair .
In matter of Case of E.E.Miller Fire Chief, Vs. Homer Miller,fireman,
Comes now the parties with their respective attorneys , Wm.H.Kelley
City Attorney for plaintiff, and Brandon Griffis, for defendant , •
with their various witnesses, The Board sitting as judges in the
cause pending, hearing the evidence introduced, after hearing all
the evidence ofthe plaintiff and defendant and witnesses, Attorney •
Griffis for the defence, ask permission to get a Deposition from
Dr. Krueger, and submit the same in evidence , the Board take said
case under advisement. •
The Board received notice from the Mayor , of Suit for damages in the
amount of $5,000.00 filed in Wayne Circuit Court against the City,
by Josephine Sweizer , for personal injuries .
Claims to the amount of $3630.77 were allowed and ordered paid.
The Board then adjourned,
