The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session' at the office of said Board Monday August 28th ,1922, at 9 o' clock A.M. •All the members of said Board, Messrs, Land , Mc Fail and Henley, being present , the following proceedings were had, to-wit : - . Mr. Henley reported in the matter of Street Improvements under Im- provements. Resoluti-on No.• 569-1920 and 591-1921, referred to him for investigation, reported both improvements in good condition with the exceptions of some cracks in Fort-Wayne Ave , and recommended that the 5jo reserve retained -be paid as reported by the City. Civil Engineer, The Board directed the Finance Department to pay to J. L. Teegarden contractor under 569-1920, the sum of $1422.09 , and Daniel G. Burk- hardt , contractor under 591-1921 , the sum of y$'"129 .15. The Board received petition signed by S. 0. Yates et-al.for an Arc light at North Stray and "D" Streets, The Board received a communication from Councilman Salzarulo, stat- ing that. the school yards of - our city are a •menace to our morals , and he wished that our Sdhool Board would take this matter uiader .consideration, it being his idea that the school yards ought to be properly lighted up after night or a high board fence with barbed _ wire on top and a locked gate, and that he. considered North Star • St. a 20ft.improved alley and not a street, the Board directed the Clerk to .write Mr. Salzar-ulo, informing him that they heartily agreed with him in this matter. • The Board received petition signed by David Mullingan, et-al for a cement roadway in the alley between Charles and William' Street from Boyer to Northwest 2nd Street , the'Board directed the Clerk to notify Mr. Mulligan, that on account of lateness of season, they would start proceedings on the improvement •petitioned for during the winter and take it up for one of the first for 1923. Mr. Hess of the M.E.L.& P.P. was directed to purchase coal if pos- sible , Also, to order and purchase _a car load. of 35' poles. Mr. Jefferies of the T.H. I. & E. Traction Co. appeared •before the Board in conferance on South 8th Street paving below "H" Street. No devolpments other .than the promise that Street Car Co. would get their tracks in shape for the city to do the work. The Board then adjourned, Attest • .- .
