The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond. , Indiana , met
in regular° session at the office of said Board Monday July 31st ,
1922, at 9 o clock A. M. All the members of said. Boa.rd,`Messrs
band , McFall and Henley , being present , the following proceedings
were had , to-wit
•
The Board meets to hear all persons interested of whose property
is affected by the improvement of North "D" Street , by constructing
5' cement sidewalk on north •side from North 14th to 15th Street ,
under improvement Resolution No. 648-1922. After hearing all persons
interested who appeared , the Board decides that the benefits to proper-
ty liable to be assessed for said improvement , is equal to the cost
of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon take
final action on same , the resolution being confi rmed v.-i th out modifi-
cation.
The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose
property is affected by the improvement of North 19th Street by
constructing cement curb & gutter on both sides of street `from Main
Street north to the Railroad, under Improvement Resolution No. 649-
1922. After hearing all persons interested who appeared, and care ful-
ly considering, the request that the curb be stopped at the north
end of the jog on east side of said street near Main Street, the
Board decide not to make curb & gutter on east side until such time
as the street is widened at • this •point , and find that the benefits to
property liable to be assessed for the cost of improvements are • equal
to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and there-
upon take final action on •said resolution, the same being confirmed
w-i th out modification, and on motion the improvement to be held for
advertising for bids , until the ear ly part of 1923.
The Board unanimously adopted the plans and specifications- for Com-
fort Station under the City Light Office •on South 8th Street,as •
prepared by D.B.Davis , Engineer and Werking & Son, Architects , and
order the Clerk to advertise for bids lst ,on general contrt.ions ,
2nd , on Plumbing , 3rd on Heating, 4th , on Electrical work, bids to
be separated as above enumerated.
Mr. J. Starr was ag ina directed to place the street in proper shape
at 262 Fort-Iradne Ave , which he agreed to do .
Mr. Klei nknecht , from Richmond Electric Co. appeared before the board, •
as requested , after some discussion the Manager of 'Light Plant
D.C.Hess, was directed to investigate , inspect and report to the •
Board as to the advisability of accepting said work as completed.
The Sup' t . of Police and Street Commissioner, were directed riot to
allow the circus to use South . "B" Streetbfrom South 21st to 23rd St.
also as to traction engines using streets in violation of ordinances.
Petition for the improvement of the alley betv.een North 13th & 14th
Street by cement road from North "D" to "E" Street was received and
referred to Engineer for plans etc . , same to be rushed.
Petition for cement alley between North 16th & 17th Street from
North "C" to "E" St , was received and referred to .Engineer for plans
etc . ,

Monday duly 31st , 1922.
Petition for cement alley between South 10th. & 11th Street, froth
South "G" to "I" Street, was received and referred. to Engineer
for plans , etc . ,
The Street Commissioners was directed to close Northwest 7th Street
at or near the Peacock Road , and to place red light at night until
such time as Ra.E.L.& P.P. can wire the same and place electric
light an said enclosure.
The City Engineer arid City Attorney, were directed to take the
necessary steps to compel' the C. & 0. Ry.. Co. , to construct the
tracks on North 3rd Street, to conform to the grade of street.

The City Attorney,. was directed to embody in the traffic ordinance
now before the Common Council , the matter of stopping heavy hauling
on North "A" Street from North 5th. to 16th Street, and Engineer
was directed to have signs made no ti fying the public that "No
heavy .hai.ling is permitted on said street between the points famed.
The roadway leading to Newnans Hill 'at old Paper Mill was referred.
to City Engineer & Street Commissioner for investigation and •

• The Street Commissioner was directed to cut the weeds on city
property and streets and to call up Mr, Land , before starting in •
Ree ve ston, Addi tion.

The Bird approved the various payrolls to date.
