Monday July 24th , 1922.
The Board of Public Works of the City of = i chmorid , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday July 24th
1922 , at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs ,
Land , McFall and Henley being present , the following proceedings
I/ were had , to-wit : -
The Board approved a primary assessment roll in the matter of the
improvement of Center Street , by constructing driveway curb on
both sides of street and paving the roadway the full width there-
of and making necessary sewer connections to property , from North-
west 2nd to Northwest 5th Street , wader. Improvement .zesolution
No ., 623-1922.
The Board received commuhi cation from '„Mite Way Advertising Co .
Bloomington, Ill. , requesting permission to place receptacles
for waste paper etc . along our streets , free to the City. the
Clerk was directed to write to said company, for more information
on the ma t to r.
The Clerk was directed to communicate with the Safety Traffic
Guide C o . Elkhart , Indiana , requesting mor time for trying out
the gaide sent annetime agoi Also requesting them to send us glass
marked ( 16th Street) to be used in place of 8th Street side , and
notify them, on account of traffic ordinance before the council
they had not as yet installed said guide.
Mr. E. Canfield, appeared before the Board in matter of South `7t
;tree t*b ei nc inadequate and that the heavy rains of last Monday
had flooded the basement in his buildings o.t 7th Street , referred
to the Engineer for report ( *sewer )
The Clerk was directed to await until specifications are prepared
before advertising for bids on Comfort Station under Light Plant
Office .
The Clerk was directed to as soon as the Fire Chief reported that
the boiler in basement was O.K. to send out notices to the various
plumbers , requesting them to go over the building , investigate
the conditions and inviting them to prepare bids for changing the
present arrangements in the heating plant in order to give the
City the best service. possible .
The City Engineer was directed to order glass for traffic guides.
The Bmrd then adjourned,
