HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-17-1922 300 Office of Board of Public Works, City of Richmond , Indiana., Monday July 17th,19 22. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday July 17th, 1922 at 9 o' clock A.M. All the members of said Board being present , the following proceedings were had , to-wit :- Permission was granted 0. H. Little , to. cut the curb on Sheridan Street , for driveway into Lot No. 39 , Railsback' s ,Addition. The Board received report from Travelers Insurance Co. on-boilers in City Hall, Chief of Fire Dept . was directed to see as to the cost of taking out old tubes in boiler , etc. , The City Attorney , it was illegal to refund any money received for oiling streets in the city unless all money received was so refunded. The Board received report from B.F.Williams , -as to receipts and disbursements and profits made in 1921, at the pavillion in Glen Miller Park, taken under advisement . The Board approved primary assessment roll in matter of improvement of South 7th St , by concrete street from Main to South "A" Street under Improvement Resolution No. 610- 1921. The Bc :rd approved primary assessment roll in matter of construct- ion of cement curb & gutter on both sides of North "D" from North 12th to 13th St , under Improvement Resolution No.634-1922 . The Board approved primary assessment roll in matter of construct- ion of cement sidewalk on south side of North "D" St. from North 13th St . west to the alley between North 12th & 13th Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 639-1922. The Board recommended that the ordinance before Council to improve the alley between North 12th & 13th Street, from "D" to "E" Street be withdrawn. The City Civil Engineer, reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 623-1922, for the improvement of Center Street, by concrete roadway , andcement curb & gutter from Northwest 2nd to 5th Street .And final estimate in favor of contractors J. L. Teegarden, in the sum of $13 ,670 .19,, less 5% retained for one year The Board accept the same and order assessment roll prepared. The Bmrd direct the Clerk to write the Board of Commissioners of Wayne County, _.,asking for a meeting with them at their earliest convenience , to discuss matters confronting the City and County. The Board directed the Clerk to notify Mr. F.P. wilson, - in matter of sewer complaint received from him, that the same had been investi- gated, and thm report there is no remedy at this time , other than the owner to property installing proper back-valves for his own protection. The Street Commissioner was directed to have sign made reading" TO AVOID GRADE CROSSING TURN EAST HERE" and place the same at the corner of Northwest 5th & Center Street. Monday July 17 th , 1922. 301 The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , sign Contract & Agreement , granting to Thomas J. Fay, his suc- cessors and assigns ,for the full period of Five ( 5) years , the ri ght to ope rate BUS LINES , in, along, and upon the following nam named streets and avenues in the City of Richmond , Indiana, subject to the Ratification and Approval of the Common Council of said City, (See contract and agreement Council Record No. 27 pages ) (and Ordi nance "Record "F" pages ) • I/ The Board received Deed to all that part of Official Tract Number 199 of the City of Richmond , which lies east of the west line of proposed Southwest First Street , Warranty Deed, signed by Albert D. March and Blanche R. March, husband and wife , together with check in the sum of sp25.00, to secure and for payment of taxes on the portion of Tract 199 Official Map, sold to said City as above described, if after the assessment and calculation of the taxes on said tract for the year 1922, it is found that the amount of such taxes is over tiP25.00, then said March agrees to pay the difference to. said City of Richmond, If the amount of such taxes is less than25 .00, said City of Richmond Agrees to refund the difference to said March, signed by Wm. H. Kelley, City Attorney and accepted by Albert D. March. The Board accepted the above Deed and agreement and direct the check in the sum of y?25.00 be turned into the City Controller' s Trust Fund, and order the Warranty Deed Recorded in the Office of _ Recorder of Wayne County , Indiana.
