Thursday July 13 th , 1922
The Board• of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in
regular session at the office thf said Board Thursday July 13th, 1922,
at 9 o' clock A.M. A11 the members of said Board Pies srs, Land , McFall
and Henley being present , the following proceedings- were had , to-wit :
} The Building Inspector to whom was referred the complaint of concrete
} base under gasoline pump at 1001 North 10th Street, reported that the
center of the pump is located approximately 2' 6" east of the inside
edge of the curb and sets on a concrete base 4' 6 7/8" X 4' 52" and
that 'the top of said concrete base is 9 inches above the heighth of
the curb. The Board assumes this being true makes a dangerous condit-
ion, and direct the Clerk 'to notify The Pure Oil Co. to make changes
according to contract b bond for installation of same .
The Board reported they had employed John F. -Hipskind, to make the
necessary repairs to sewer running from North 2nd Street to the Race
north of Light Plant, as an emergency existed they had no time to
advertise for bids .
Mr. Folger Wilson, appeared before the Board complaining as to sewer
backing into his celler116 South llth St. referred to Engineer for
investigation and report .
The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is
affected by the improvement of the alley 1st south of Main Street by
constructing cement roadway from South 20th to 21st Street, under
Improvement Resolution No.647 -1922. After hearing all persons inter-
ested who appeared, the Board decides that the benefits to property.
liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of
same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes
final action on same , the resolution being confirmed without modi-
fication.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 651-1922,
to improve the alley between North 21st & 22nd St, from 1st alley
north of Main to North "C" St ; Also 1st alley nouth of Main Street
from North 21st to 22nd Street.
The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 161-1922,
for the vacation of the alley between Northwest 5th & 6th Street.
running from Pearl Street south to the alley running east & west.
The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 162-1922,
To procure right-of-way to construct and maintain a sewer between
South 4th Street and the C . & 0. R. R. and- South "D" Street' and
South "E" Street.
The Board approved the contract & bond of Daniel G. Burkhardt con-
tractor under Improvement Resolution No. 645-1922.
The matter of petition for cement curb & gutter on South llth St.
from South "E" to "F" Street, referred to Engineer. The Engineer
reported a remonstrance filed signed by 11 resident owners , as there
are only 18 resident owners residing along the line of the improve-
ment , the Board decide not to take any further action at this time .

In matter of petition for improvement of the alley by cement
roadway between North 13th & 14th St, from North "D" to "Et' st.
referred to Engineer, Engineer reported there are 7 resident
owners four of whom had signed petition for said improvement ,
the Board on account of report of the Common Council hold ! same
under advisement for future consideration.
The Board received bids on motor dri ven truck for Park Depart-
merit as follows, to -wit:

Ford Roadster, fully equipt.1 extra ti re ,tube & rim---0487®23
Ford One., Ton truck , either solid or pneumatic tires-4616 .15
The Board decide to purchase One Ton Ford truck, to be
lettered in Gold Leaf Park Dept „ Richmond, and award the con-
tract to said Webb-Coleman Company. (See bids).
The Board then adjourned,
