The Board of Pue is ooryLs of the City of n:ichmond , Indiana , met
in regular seSSio . at the office of said Board , Monday June 19th ,
19;7.2, at 9 cTci ock AId. All the members of said Board Messrs , Land ,
McFall and Henley being present , the follow;ilia, proceedings were
had, to-wit : -
Pursuant to post p on.eilent , the Board met to take up the natter cf
remonstrance and hearing on the improvement of the alley re t c-e Gig

Str eet , under Im'prcvemeiat resolution No. 64 -1922, in the absence
Gf the ngineer cY the Board not having proper information, the Board
continued the hearing on said resolution unti 1 Monday June 26th, 19'22
at 9 o clock A. M.
Pursuant t_o postponement, the Board met to take up the n .tter. of the
remoras trance and hearing in im t ter of the improvement of the alley
between North 1T;t1-1 G; 14-th Stree + , by cement roadway from North "D"

" after hearing all persons interested who a.ppeare.d, decide that the
benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement
are equal to the co st of same as reporte d 'by the City Civil Engine i v l;n�_ e er

_ being raised as to chether .per son burying on a contract Deed not
recorded, had a right to be counted as a remonstrator, the Board not
having proper legal advice on this question, decide to take no
chances on said improvement and on motion of Mr. Henley, as this
improvement was recommended by the Board of heal th , the Clerk was

for their action.
The Board• unanimously adopted Improvement Heso Intl on No. 647 -19 ,
for the improvement of the 1st alley e south of Main S tr e et , by cement
roadway from South 20th to 21st Str e et .
- The Board received bids for repairing the boi ler in basement of
City Building , as follows , viz :
" Jacob Kern , bid:
To remove 38 , 3" flues 14' long, re air hand-hole in front head of
boiler, replacing 36 , 3" flues Lap-weld flues 6'188.00 or using
seamle ss cold drawn flues for the slain of 2U9. 64 , I to get the old
flues t2iw ell out .
" Graham 8c Becker, bid :
Will refine boiler, patch on head. front end_ and replace brick" works
using lap-weld flues , for the sum of 209.CO.

Take out old tubes, clean bo filer, install patch ar ou„d front hand-
hole , furnish & install new tul)es , replace furnace lining & brick
work which must be taken out in or der to do the above works , Al
labor & material for Jab Complete- - -,g155.85 .using -Chico Lap-' end
tube s.. Seamless or Charcoal iron tubes can be furnished at ad.i_iti aria]

The Board received bids for the impr ovemeiit of North .TTD" Street,
by constructing a cement sic ewalk on south side of sheet from
North 13th Street to the alley west between , 2th :' 17th Street
under Improvement Resolution No. 639-1922 , as follows vie:

The bid_ of Daniel G. Burkhar.dt , being the only 1i received
and being below the estimate of the City Civil Em^ineer the
contract was so awarded.
The Board received bias for Band Concerts to be held in Glen Mil-
ler Park during the -balance of the season beginning Julie 25, 1922.
as follows , to-wit : -
" The American Legion Band, bid:

When weather -conditions prevent an out-door concert , the Board of •
Works may postpone a concert by notifying the Band. Clerk not later

into a contract with said band for Ten ( 10 ) conce its unless pre-
v elate d by weather, for an Eighteen ( 18 ) piece band at the price of
55.50 per concert less T'25 .00 on the total amount for the 10 con-
certs which t•he band clerk notifies the Board has been paid by
Mr. I . , in ca se they receive the contract
Mr. Land was directed to take up the y_fl tter of ordering, more tar"via
• 1TBTT with the City Engineer, whatever conclusion is reached will be
satisfactory wi th the Board . .
• The Board ordered. the Richmond' City 1 ater Works to place fire hy-
drants as follows, West 6th & Peacock Road ; Chestnut & West 5th St.

The Board direct:ed1' to stay the fo'lowing reserve to ethe contractors

The Clerk was directed to noti fy Street Commissioner to remove the
loose stone on SZuti 7th Street , which are being thrown about by
automobile traffic.
