HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-08-1922 2B1 r—� Office of Board of Public Works , City of fLichmond , Indiana , Thursday June 8 , 1922. • The Board of Fubl is Works of the City of hichmond , Indiana , met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday June 8th, 1922, at 9 o' cl ock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs , • -Land , McFall and Henley;, being present , the following proceedings were had , to-wit : The Board directed_ the Sup' t of ,light _Plant , to install the turtle or Traffice Guide at corner of 8th & Main Streets . The Clerk was directed to notify C.A.& 0..K. Riegel to clean the dirt off of sidewalk washed from their property Lot 87 iteeveston. The Board dir ected that the little park on east side of North 3rd St. at "D" Street be called the Davis Park, and instruct the City Engi neer to order two drinking fountains , one for South 7th St. Park and one for Davis Park. The Board directed the Clerk to re-adverti se for automobile for use of Police Department , the bids received heretofore being thrown out on account of incompleteness of bid . The Board dir ected the Clerk to advertise for bids for City legal advertising. Sul ' t. Hess of Light Plant, was au thori zed to hire a truck for use of plant by the day, to' try out whether it was cheaper to hire truck -or purchase a new one. The Clerk submitted the various .complaints referred to them by the Common C ounc it. • The- Engineer reported the comple tion of contra c t under ImprImprovement kesoluti on No. 618-1922 for improvement of South "D" St , by cement sid ewalk from South 11ti to 14th St, exdept where cement of good constructi on already exists . The Board accepted the same and of de red an assessment roll prepared.. The Engineer reported the comple do i1 of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 621-1922, for construction of sanitary sewer in South 6th St, from South "H" St. sewer to a point north to the. C. 8. 0. Railroad , where same crossed the street.' The. Board ac cep ted the same and ordered an assessment roll pr epared. The Board received bids for a Sahitary Sewer•; beginning at the sewer in the alley between South 3rd & 4th St. on north side of South "D" St ; running thence southwardly to the• east ItaiLe of C.& 0. . Co. right-of-wa, ; thence in and along the east line of said right-of-- way of the C . & 0. Ry. Co. about 200 feet ,under Improvement Resolu- ti on No. 637 -1922. " John P. Hip o ind , bid : Sewer complete , including re-paving .31 per linear foot . The bid being below the Engineers estimate , rut the right-of-way not having as yet been granted , the Board postpones action on same until right-of-way has been secured. 782 Thursday June 8th , 1922. The Board received bids for the improvement of the east side of Northwest and Street,- by the construction of a cement sidewalk 5' wide on east side of Northwest 2nd Street, from Lincoln St. to Richmond .venue , under. Improvement Resolution No. 638-1922. „ Laniel G. Burkhardt , bid : • Cement sidewalk, also crosswalks _ O. 19 square ft. The Bid of Daniel G. Burkhardt ,. being the only bid received & being vi='i thin the estimate of the C i t3- Engineer, the contract was so awarded. • Pursuant to request of the Board of Public Works thru the Clerk the Board received copies of ordinances from the City Clerk of •Sout_rl Bend uoverninf Motor or Jitney busses in that city.
