Office of Board of Public Works,
City of Richmond , Indiana ,
Monday June 5th , 1922.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday June 5th,
1922, at 9 o' clock A. The following members of said Board being
present , Messrs , Land and McFall, Absent Mr. Henley. Two members
of said Board being present the following proceedings were had,viz:
- The Board met to hear remonstrance , if any, on account of assessment
of benefits and dan-e.ges in matter of the vacation of a portion of
Glen Avenue , from North 20th to 21st Street , under Declaratory lieso-
lnti on No. 159-1922 . Ho one appearing or remonstrating, the Board
approved a fi na?- assessment roll confirming in al t- ings the origi -
nal assessment roll as heretofore approved , and now direct the same
1G ra sm1 a-- 2 forthwith tf the Department of Finance , and said_
portion of Glen Avenge , is. hereby declared vacated.
The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any, of persons primarily
assessed on account of widening the alley between North "P" Street.
and Glen Ave. from North 20th to 2lst, Street , under Declaratory
Resolution No. 160 -1922. No one appearing or remonstrating, the
Board confirmed the assessment of benefi is and damages as originally
made , and now declare the said alley as above specified widened and
opened to public use , and order the assessment roll filed with the
Department of Pin€Lnc e.
A report from Jesse A. Bailey , Garland Willett & Turner W.Hadley
appraisers appointed by the Boa,.rd of Public Works , to appraise the
property at No. 99 West Main Street , as ;4200 .00 being a fair cash
value .
The City Engineer reported that Richmond Light , Heat &NPijiwer Co.had
not properly tamped under the concrete pavement , causing the street
to crack , the Clerk was directed to notify the company to make prop-
er repairs by the 15th of June , or the city would do the work and
charge same up to the company.
A petition was presented for the vacation of the alleybetween NW.
5th & 6th St , from Pearl St. south to alley, referred to Engineer
for plans.
A petition for cement curb & gutter on North 19th Street, from North
1'A" to "C" Street, was ,presented the property owners req
uested erg recv e.,,.ecl_ to
change the petition to read from Main St . to Railroad.
Mr. Palle , Sup' t. of Parks was directed to purchase a one horse
mower .
The Board receivad boils for Police Automobile as follows : vim :
"Lexington Motor Co , Connersville , Ind; -
To furnish a five passenger stock touring cal .----01600 .00,
Extra equipment as required to be furnished at dealers prices and
not included in amount of bid herein submitted.

rT Bethard Auto Co. bid:
'We agree to furnish a five-passenger Caddillac Touring Oar
body t i th the top and windshield and a pair of rear touring car fenders
for the same ,all to be mounted on the present Cadillac Model 55
chassis which is now used and known as the Police Patrol and • Am-
• bu lance
We also agree to furnish a' Dodge Brothers Chassis , extend-
ed to the prop. er length to accorsodate the ambulance body which is now
on a Cadi llac chassis. We also agree to mount••this said alabulance
body upon sail' Dodge Brothers chassis , furnishing such new sills ,
fenders and, parts as are necessary to complete the change-over in
a first class worrmataliy;e manner. We do not however, agree to in-
clude painting of either of the above cars in t±?i s proposal.
The Bethard Auto Company agrees to furnish to the Board of Pub-
lic Works of Richmond, Indiana, the above chassis, and. other miter-.
ials and lab or as mentioned above , for .the consideration of twelve
hundred ( p1200.00) do llara
The Board increase the pay of Mr . D. C. Hess Manager of M.E.L. ; P.P.
from 3250.00 per month 'to '300.00 per month , beginning July 1s+ ,1922.

Claims to the amount of` 37 724 .16 were allowed.
