Works 277 City of Richmo net Indiana , • Thursday June let , 1922. • . -� The Board of f Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board , Thursday June 1st , 1922 , at 9 o ' clock A. M. Tire following members of said Board be- ing present , Messrs , Land and Henley, Absent , Mr. McFa,i1, Two mem- bers of said Board being present , the following proceedings were had, to-wit : - 1 The Board met to hear all persons interested, or whose property is affected by the improvement of Noa.th "D" Street, by constructing a cement sidewalk on the south side of said Street from North 13th Street to the alley . west between North 12th & 13th Street , as pro- vided for by Improvement Resolution No . 639-1922. After hearing all persons interested who appeared (no one appearing) The Board decide that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improve- ment are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon take final action on same , the Resolution being confirmed without T110di fi cat i0n. The Board met to hear all persons interested, or ~,hose property is affected by the improvement of North-west 7th Street from the Pea- cock Road to West Main Street Also West Main Street from West 8th . Street to the west corporation line of the city: By paving the roa,.uL- wvay of said streets in such portion thereof as is not provided for by the "THREE MILE ROAD LAW" proceedings for the improvement of such highway now pending before the Board of County Commissioners of Wayne County , Indiana. , such street raving to be of like kind as that adop- ted by said Board of County Commissioners , and also for the improve- ment of said streets by constructing cement curb with a one-foot apron on either side thereof between the points named above . - Said Streets to be paved with one of the following kinds of modern city pavements , to-wit : Brick , Concrete , Creosoted Wood-Block or Bitumi- nous macadam on a concrete base; Also constructing cement sidewalk on east side of 7th Street 6 ' wide from Pearl St. to the Peacock Road and repairing the walk already constructed where needed between West Main St . d, Peacock Road on said 7t7n Street , as provided for un- der Improvement Resolution No. 640-1922. After hearing all persons interested who appeared. The Board decide that the benefits to prop- erty liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to .the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer and thereupon take final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed with- out modification. The Board met to hear all persons interested, or whose property is affected by the " improvement of South-west 7th Street , from West Mai n St . to the National road , by grading and paving the roadway & con- structi ng cement curb with a one-foot apron on both sides of Street also cement sidewalk 6 ' wide except where sid ev? lk is already laid in good condition, between the points name d, Street to be paved with one of the following kinds of modern city pavements ,to-wit : Brick ,Concrete ,Creosoted Wood-Block or Bituminous macadam on 'a con- crete base, as provided under Improvement Resolution No.641-1922. After hearing all persons interested v:ho appeared,the Board decide that the benefits tcVrprcperty liable to be assessed for said- improve- .ments are equal to the cost as reported by the Civil Engi veer,and thereupon take fi nal acti on,the said resolution being confirmed without modi ficati_on. . 27 Thursday June 1st , 1922. • Mr. Overman, owner of the property ad j caning the West 7th Street Park on the north appeared before the Board , in matter of rebuild- ing a new line fence . The Board decide the City will pay one-half of necessary material and labor in erecting new line fence , "Overman to assume the other half of expense , this a_c snoe "meat be- ing satisfactory to Mr. Overman, the Board order thisrarrangei ent be made a part of the record of their meeting . • The Pastor of Mount Moriah•Baptist Church , appeared before the Board . requesting peruiSsion to use the South loth Street. Park, in June for the purpose of conducting a Bazaar for the church, the Board requested that he secure the signatures of the residents along the _ Park waiving their objections "to said holding of bazaar in the Park and' present •the same to the Board at their next meeting . The City Attorney, in reporting on the matter of the city purchasing uniforms for garbage men , stated that such an expendi tore is illeg-- • • al,. as the city had no right to purchase these uniforms any more • than they would have to purchase the same for the police firemen . The Board unanimously •adopted Improvement he solution No. 646-1922, for the improvement of North_ 13th Street by const ructing cement. sidewalks, curb & gutters on both aides of street , and grading and graveling the roadway from North "H" to "J" Street.
