The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met in regular session at the office of said Board, Monday May 22nd , 1922, at 9 o' clock .A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley, being present , the following proceedings were had , to-wit : - The Board met to hear all persons interested, or whose property is affected by the improvement of Northwest 2nd Street, by the construction of a cement sidewalk 6' wide on the east side from Lincoln Street to Richmond Avenue , as provided for by Improvement Resolution No. 638-1922. No one appearing or remonstrating against said improvement ,` the Board on motion of Mr. Henley decide that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for" said improte- merits are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, . and thereupon confirm the original resolution without modification. Mr. McFail was directed to order 56 tables from Richmond Lumber Co. 2.50 per. same to be assembled & painted by Park Dept . , The Board approved the contract & bond of Z.B.Pyle Co. contractor under Improvement Resolution No. 626-1922. Also of E. M. Curtis , contractor under Improvements Resolution No. 630 & 633-1922. E. Williams , appeared before the Board in reference to running a Motor driven boat in Glen Lake , On motion the Board take this mat- ter under advisement until next meeting Thursday May 25, 1922. The Board received petition for cement alley between S. 17th & 18th St, from S. "A" to north terminal of alley; thence east to S.18th St, referred to . City Civil Engineer, for plans . The Board received request from hodefeld Mfg. Co. for permission to install an air station west 'end of bridge , deferred until in- vestigation is made of location. The Board received request from C .McMahan , for permission to in- stall Gasoline filling dispenser on N.W. 5th St, deferred until in- vestigation is made of location. In matter of complaints from Council, the Engineer reported that it is impossible to keep the road in good shape to gravel pit ,as requested by Hospital Trustees; That S. "L" St. has been repaired. And that the matter of improving Sherman St ; Also Butler be pro- vided for in the budget for next year.The matter of heavy hauling on SW."A"St. referred to Police Dept.The Board reported that the posts in Reeveston would be painted- soon, holes in streets would be taken care of as soon as possible ; to Chain off park walks from roadway, as soon as funds are available frr. same; As to removing the Arch, that matter should be decided by Council; Building In- spector to recommend such amendments as necessary to Bldg . Code; as to fire hydrants ,the Board is making a survey of the city,& will decide later where same should be placed; order water turned on in W.7th St. Park.
