The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana., met in regular session at the office of said Board , Monday May 15th , 1922, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board being pres- ent , Messrs, Land, McFall and Henley, the following proceedings _ were had , to-wit : - The Board approved the contract & bond. of Ellis Frame, for the paint ing of the various park propetti es. A petition signed by Louis Salzarulo, for the vacation of the alley between North 13th & 14th Street, from North "G" Street north to the alley running east .& west north of North "G" Street , was presented,. and the Board decide to meet at Whitewater School grounds at 11 A.M. Thursday May 18th , 1922 , in reference to said above alley , and direcl ed the Clerk , to notify the School Trustees and interested property _owners of such meeting, requesting them to be present at said meet. The Board received petition signed by Arvilla A. Blossom and 5 others requesting the installation of Fire Hydrant, 500 feet north of . School Street on Hunt Street, the Board is having a survey made of present locations of fire hydrants , and said petition was ordered filed for future consideration. . The Board was visited by Messrs , Wm. Haberkern & Adolph Blickwedel , delegates from South side Improvement Association, in the matter of compelling the Street Car Co. to pave between their tracks and 18" outside of rails thereof, stating this improvement was badly needed and they had been led to believe the company had at the time _the improvement was originally made agreed to pave as above stated as ' soon as war . conditi ons were over. The Board thanked the Committee and requested their assistance in having this work done, as the City Attorney stated the City would probably have some trouble with the company in making said improvement. The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by Improvement Resolution No. 637-1922, providing for .sewer in South 4th Street, for the benefit of the property on westhsid e of said 4th , Street from South "D" to "E" Street . after hearing all per- sons interested who appeared, and carefully considering the propo- sition to change the route of sewer , The City:rCilil Engineer,stateal that it would be less expensive for the property owners if the sewer route was changed, as follows ; Beginning at the sewer in the alley on North-- side of South "D" Street ; thence running in a southwardly direction to the east line of the right-of-way of the C. & 0. Ry.Co. thence parallel with east line of said C. & 0. Ry.Co. right-of-way about 460 feet . On moti on of Mr. Henley, the Board decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement is equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer and thereupon takes final action on said resolution, the same being con- firmed as above modified, by changing the route of said sewer from South 4th Street, to the rear of the property on west side of said South 4th Street. 268 Monday May 15th , 1922. The Board entered into agreement wi th Jesse T. . Druly, for remov- inp. garbage from the Crematory according to ' bid received on 20th day of Apri 1, 1922. (See .Speci fications etc . , - The .Board approved a primary assessment roll of benefits and damages in the matter of the vacation of part of Glen Avenue from North 20.th to 21st Street , as provided for by -Declaratory 'Resolut- ion No. 159-1922, Also for the widening of the alley between North "F" Street and Glen Ave , from North 20th to 21st Street, under Declaratory Resolution No. 160-1922. and fix date of final hearing on said assessment rolls, Monday June 5th , 1922. • Manager Hess of the Id. E. L. & P. P. appeared before the Bor. rd re questing additional an propr iati o ns for Tight Plant in amount of 0.5,000.00 for Meters & $3,000.00 for Wire., the Board directed the Clerk to prepare ordinance covering said appropriations , re- questing the City Controller to recommend the same . The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for changing the body from the ambulance &npatrol to a C rassis to be- advertised for and to place suitable body on the Cadillac Chassis Model 55, now used for ambulance & patrol car , also for touri ng car. The City Attorney reported in the n .tter of bill rendered by the Coffield Sanders & Company, Accountants for serv9 ces P.P. in the sum of 261.41 , which had been referred to him, stated that the claim should -Je raid .
