Monday Apri 1 3rd , 1922 .
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
• in regular session at the office of said Board on Monday April 3rd
192e, at 9 o' clock A.I.I.All the members of said Board Messrs, Land.,
McFall & Henley bed ng pre sent . The foolLowing proceedings were had ,
to-wit ; -
The Board granted permission _to Whalen Bros , to construct under
. private contract a cement driveway at No. 711 South "H" Street .
The Board received petit ion signed by S .G.Smel ser ,et-al purporting
to be at least 75% of real estate abutti ng on South 7th Street from
Main to South "A" Street , to construct , erect , install & operate a
system of street lights along the street curb in front of the city
block ,and_ along that part & portion of said street desi gnated, viz;
(both sides of South 7th Street , from Main to South "A" Street )
Such lights. & posts to be construc.ted, ere cted & installed & oper-
ated under and pursuant to an act of the Genera, Assembly of the
State of Indiana, entitled, "AN ACT PROVIDING FOR TIE OPERATION TION AND
MAINTENANCE _Or TEE SAME " creating a lien upon real estate , re-
pealing all laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith & declaring
an emergency , " Approved March 10th , 1915 . which was referred to
City Engineer, for plan s,resc luti on etc.
The Clerk reported that VJm.A.Bond , requested that in building the
alley 1st south of Main St , from South 21st to 22nd St , the work
onsame rpermit theowners to erect residences
be deferred so as to zerni�
contemplated this summer, • the Board deci de to postpone the murk on
same as long‘ as the same can be done .

The Beard deci de to go L look over the following requests , viz
American ican Trust & Savings Bank, for permission to install a gasoline
. pump on North 10th Street at "J" Street ; also as to base ball diam-
ond & tennis courts in Glen Miller, requested by Public Play-ground
director Slocum.
Mr. Taggart , appeared before the Board requesting permission to
change the l ocati on of street fair & shows to be given by the For-
ei gn War Veterans , from North "A" Street heretofore granted by the
Board to around the Wayne County Court House, the Board decide to
grant said change in location, provi ded, the veterans secure the
permission of Board of Wayne County Commissioners .
The Building Inspector & City Engineer, where directed to proceed
th the plans and have the down stairs room remodeled for Matron
etc . , and L:.ayor to hold. Court in Counci 1 Chamber.
Th Board signed contract for Transformers for M.E.L. & F.P. with
the Geineral Electric Company.
Engineer Davis & Commerci al Manager Df C. Hess , were directed to
investi..p•ate as to the advisability of carrying steam from Light
Plant to City Building for heating the btu i1ding.

The Board received bids for painting the various buildings in
Glen Miller Park, also Star Park House North 10th Street , as
follows ,

The Board on motion postpone action on bids for paint & painting
to Iv`ionday April 10th , 1922.
_ The Board on motion accepted the work of painting North 10th Street
Bridge under contract of 011ie Mains , and direct the Controller
to pay said O.Mains the sum of 0190.00 as per contract .
The Board then adjourned,
