HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-30-1922 Offs ce of Board. of Public Works , 239 City of Richmond , Indiana Thursday March '.Oth , 1922. • The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond Indiana , met in regular session at the. office of said Board Thursday March 30, - 1922 , at 9 oT clock: A. H. The following members of said Board being present , Messrs , Land and Mctail. Absent Mr. Henley. Two members of said Board being present , the following proceedings were had, to-wit : - The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the. constructs on of a ,cement roadway in the alley be- tween South 10th & 11th Street from South TTB" to "C TT Street , as provided for under Improvement Resolution No. 022-1922. After hear- " ing all persons interested who appeared (no one appearing ) and no • remonstrance having been rece ived or filed; the Board thereupon deci de that the benefits to prop erty liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, the Board thereupon took final action' on said reso- luti on the same being confirmed as ors ginally adopted without :sods - fication. The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the 'improvement of Center Street , from Northwest 2nd to Northwest 5th Street ; by constructing cement curb with apron one foot 7,1de on both sides of said street , and grading arid. paving the roadway wi th one of the following kinds of modern cs. ty pavements to-wit : - Brick - Concrete - Asphalt - or Creosoted Weed Block to- gether wi th necessary gas, water and sewer connections as provi ded for under improvement Resolution No. 62.5-1922. After hearing all persons interested who appeared and carefully considering verbal remonstrances ride by offici als of the P.C. C.& St. L. Ry. Co . and Cin. Richd. & ft-Wayne R.R.Co. The Board decide the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer. The Board on moti on confirmed the resolution as originally adopted without modification, and decide to hold said resolution for 10 days or to April 10th , 1922, before advertising for bids . The' Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the improvement of the lit alley south of Main Street by construeting a cement roadway in said alley from South 21st to 22nd Street , as provided under Improvement Resolution No. 624-1922 No one appearing or remonstrating against said improvement , the Board d:ebi.des. .thateth.e : benefit, to -property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the cost of same as re-ported by the City Civil Engineer, and th e"retreo n take final action on said . resolution, the same being confirmed without modifi cation. The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the construction of cement curb & gutters 'on both sides of Pearl Street-, from Northwest 1st to Northwest 5th Street, as pro- vided by Improvement. Resolution No. 626-19 22. After hearing all per- sons interested who appeared, a remonstrance having been filed against said improvement , the Board continued hearing on said resolution to April 10th , 1922, and refer the remonstrance to the City Civil Engineer for investigation and report.. . -The Board met to hear all persons interested or those property is affected by the construction of a Sanitary Sewer in the 1st alley . west of South 6th Street , running from the Trunk Sewer in South "H" Street to South- "I" Street, under Improvement Resolution No.627.1922. No one appearing or remonstrating against Said improvement , the Boarld: decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same as 'reported by the City • Civil Engineer,. and thereupon take final action on said resolution - the same being confirmed. without modification. The Board viewed and accepted the work of John Hipskind, contractor under Improvement Resolution No.615-1921 , and accepted and ,approved final assessment roll on said improvement and direct the said •assess- ment roll be transmitted forthwith to the Departent of Finance . • The Board grant Charles Bassen , .permission to. move building in rear s of Dickinson Trust Company, from Sailor Street to South 10th Street between Main & "A" Streets , -upon permi- issued. by- Building Inspector. The Board • requested the -City Attorney to prepare an ordinance .appro- priating the sum of 19 ,000.00, for relief sewer Southwest sewer system , inspectors on same and. printi .g of bonds to be issued.; also request the City Controller to recommend such an- appropriation. • • The Board then adjourned7441 d4,1a. • Pres . o card.
